The sending unit is clogged, take off and try clearing, then reinstall and should be fine. Tim

Slow reverse and slow uphill after warming up , does it need a new motion belt

If you are lucky it could be a belt slipping, so a new belt will cure this however as this happens when the machine warms up it could well be a hydro problem, as the oil in the hydro heats up it becomes more viscous so if there is wear in the hyro it will leak internally causing slow running.

1997 harley davidson 1340 evo engine has no oil pressure

MY 1995 1340 evo roadking oil light stays on at idle when the engine is hot, I've chenged the oil and filter using genuine harley davidson, changed the oil pressure switch and even done a full engine flush with 4 litres of flush oil which as made the oil light stay on until 1200 RPM's, before i flushed the system the light would go off at a round 1000/1100 rmp's.

White smoke is coming out of exhaust of husqvarna yth2454

smell the oil and if it smells like gas you have a bad seal on the needle valve in the carb and gas overflows into the crankcase change the needle and seat change the oil and if possible add a fuel shut of valve and close it when not in use

What would cause my oil light to stay on? I checked oil and it is full and the oil light just stays on.

pull the ribber cover back if fitted over the oil light switch as if this is full of oil then it will hold the light on ,but if no cover and wiring not chaffed through then i would suspect the engine is worn out and will require re-conditioning or as its 22yrs old just buy a nice newer secondhand vehicle from a family whos had a bereavement and their clearing out the house .

Oil light on when oil is full

a loose connection WILL NOT cause flickering oil light unless your your oil is empty at the same time a connector is loose. This flickering is most likely caused by clogged oil ports or failing oil pump. When this happens there is insufficient oil running through the engine, causing the sensor to activate the light intermittedly. Have this checked immediately to prevent extensive engine damage. Hopefully this helps!!

Oil Pressure light stays on. Oil reservoir is full, oil level light goes out and dipstick shows full oil. What could cause this?

It occurred to me that you may find it by unplugging wires on the few items under the hood which may appear they could be the oil pressure sending unit.

The light should go out when the wire is unplugged, and if it does it is bad. That's your continuity test.

If you unplug the oil pressure sending unit and the light does not go out, the cause of the oil light staying on is something other than the oil pressure sending unit.

RE pete cass posting: I believe that if the sensor is diconnnected, the oil pressure light will not light (at least because of the oil pressure sensor switch being disconnected) -- the symptom here is the light won't go off. The switch is closed with oil pressure below 10-15 PSI and open above that oil pressure -- this is a normally closed switch.

Check oil light stays on even after a full oil change

The oil pan has a sensor in it that need to be replaced. It screws in and you may lose some oil.
