How do I save files to my Toshiba canvio slim 11 portable external hard drive

you should find someone local to help you out with that, its a little complicated to explain via text. its not a complicated process, there are just a few different ways to do it, depending on how many files you need to back up.

1. find the file you want to copy (this could be a folder, too).
2. right click and select "copy"
3. go to "computer" or "my computer" and double click the toshiba drive.
4. right click and select "paste" and that will copy it.

as i said, there are other ways of copying files, but that's probably the simplest way, although not necessarily the easiest, if you have a lot of files.

I cant rename my toshiba canvio 3 1tb

Check to see if there is a file in the root directory called "autorun.inf". (Make sure you can view hidden files.) If there is, either delete it, or move it to a backup folder. Now you should be able to rename your portable hard drive.

If you don't see the new name take effect right away, Safely remove the drive, unplug it and plug it back in. The changes should show up immediately.

Got old toshiba laptop to use as portable graphic runs windows98

Your old Toshiba laptop most likely does not have a firefly port.
The only way to use your firefly device on the Toshibe is to purchase a firefly PCMCIA adapter card and plug it into the Toshiba's PCMCIA slot and install the card driver.
Please click on this link for details and prices for this adapter :-
