MBOX2 only getting mono sound

Hi, I can only hear through one side of the headphones when playing through the Mbox2. I've checked the headphones on another system and they work fine. I'm wondering if something has come loose inside? Is it expensive to send it for repair? thanks

Check the adjustments in your mbox is there is any option to move the noise left and right if there is one so put it into centre

Blown or defective Headphone Amp IC or alternatively a defective Pot. Either way only AVID can fix it for you.

Outside parts and service is impossible.

Fuse would have NOTHING to do with the problem. Make sure to use balanced audio lines... XLR or TRS to mics or other devices.

I can only hear one side of my headphone with the Samson S-Amp! wheni pull the headphone cable out i can hear on both ears. what kind of connection do i need to listen in stereo?

Are you using a STEREO input cable? Is the source of the audio stereo? The stereo cable will have three connections on the plug... the sleeve, the ring and the tip.

If you only have mono source or using a mono cable you will only get sound in the left headset. Pulling the plug part way out will sometimes contact both connection so you will hear both.

If your source is mon, you will need a special cable that connects the mono signal to both sides of the input plug, that is the ring AND the tip.

The recording level to my Mbox is very low for some reason. I am running Pro Tools LE and I have a shure 87a microphone. Every time I attempt to record a track, the input volume is incredibly low...

Make sure you turn the Phantom power on the Mbox2 on as the Shure 87A requires it being a condenser mic.Make sure you use XLR mic cables. These are just things to check on.

My mbox2 will not install no more on my hp windows7 64bit get message Proot8 not vaild exec of win22. tried to install with hp support but could not

There has been a virus (nesky) that pertained to Win22.... if there is a chance you have that scaan for it first.
If that isn't the problem POSSIBLY an anti-virus program or anti_spyware is blocking it. Disconnect from teh internet and disable ALL these anti programs and try installing the Mbox2 again.
Last method would be to try installing it in SAFE mode if nothing else works.

Protools mbox2 issue

it doesnt sound like its the mbox more maybe the protools install. But as far as the cable goes can you tell me if you can ping the mbox throught the 1394 connection. If you cant ping it then damage may have been caused to the unit and it may need to be serviced. I fix my own M-box's but in my store it only costs around $50usd to fix almost all problems with a mbox2
