Question about Maytag Washing Machines
Check for a kinked or blocked drain hose.
UNPLUG THE WASHER from the wall
Remove the front screws near the floor and pull off the front cover. In there you will see the water pump and belt. Check belt to see if it's stretched or worn.
Disconnect the water hoses from the pump and check the hoses, pump and tub screen (if equipped - follow the hose from pump to tub to find it) for a sock stuck in there.
Look inside the pump for the impeller vanes and rotate pump by hand. The pump should turn easily and the vanes should not be chewed up.
Maytag pumps and belts are plentiful, cheap (relatively) and easy to replace.
