If by shot you mean it won't engage, yes you can start the mower. If you mean the anti rotation lugs are broken or the bearing has collapsed then no I wouldn't. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

I have a LT1042, cub cadet. PTO clutch burnt up. I replaced it and the solenoid, fuse, and relay. Thinking that when PTO clutch burnt out that something else like a wire or sensor went out also.

Check all the safety switches u have a bad one look under the seat first that one is a common problem so I take it your PTO won't engage I bet your old PTO is still good the safety junk they put on these mowers fails a lot causing problems running your mower also look under the back side by the tire there is another safety switch that gets corroded that's switch is the one that will not let you mow in reverse if you want to bypass it u can just put the wires together then beware your mower will work in reverse also I hope this helps you have a great day Regards Chris

How do I check the PTO switch on my RTZ22 mower?

Hopefully you put back the stabilizer for the clutch assy. If not then it spun the first time you you crank the mower engine and destroy it wiring connections.

If this didn't with the mower not run but the ignition in the on position disconnect the connector at PTO clutch. Now switch on the PTO switch and using a voltmeter (DVM) check for the battery voltage across the two wire at the connector. If voltage is there then the PTO clutch is bad. But if the voltage isn't present then either you have bad PTO or ignition switch or have wiring problem.

On john deere la150, if i sit on seat and engage blades,,,nothing, but when i lift of seat, blades engage and motor shuts off. Replaced seat switch and did not fix problem

"On john deere la150, if i sit on seat and engage blades,,,nothing, but when i lift of seat, blades engage and motor shuts off. Replaced seat switch and did not fix problem" Okay, what I'm hearing is that "nothing" means the blades-driving PTO won't engage (declutch) when you switch on mower; but then, (say) as you start to dismount the mower (seat) the mower (drive clutch) engages even as the deadman switch (seat switch) kills the engine (and the drive/pto shaft starts to slow down. The key here seems to be that at full engine torque the clutch is unable to remain engaged but, rather, slips so that mower blade inertia (resistence) cannot be overcome...but as engine/pto rotation slows the clutch is able not to slip. First place to consider is the clutch gap which is probably to0 large (possibly from wear and tear, possibly not). So check specs and how-to from manual or factory and reset the pto drive clutch gap...not hard to do. If clutch gap is not the problem then most likely rehab or replacement of the clutch assy will be needed...is the mower has many years use sufficient to wear out the clutch. Another possiblity is an electic (wring/switching/grounding) problem involving mower and deadman switches.

I have a husqvarna riding mower.. when i engage pto it kills the mower.. i direct wired the pto to the battery and it kicks on and off while mowing, mower runs fine when the pto is off please help

If you wired the pto directly to the battery and still kicks off and on, you have a bad pto clutch. They can be expensive but they are fairly easy to replace. Hope this helped.

i'm guessing that this is a riding mower? the problem could be the pto switch itself but more than likely the elctric clutch is going bad or the bearings are shot - if it's the clutch, it's gonna be expensive! sorry
