Question about Hayward Super Pump 1 1/2 - Hp for In Ground Pools
This sounds like a frozen (seized) machine. Is the impeller able to turn? If the impeller is locked, maybe you can release it. If not, you may need to haul the unit to an electric motor shop, for repair. Some more powerful motors use a start up system, some mechanical, some use condencers (sometimes called starters), and at that point, you want to be SURE what is needed, for safety.
Hope this helps.
