Hi dmatharu667
this happens when you take a backup of a company that has a accdata folder in the accdata folder and it reports version as v9. To correct this go to data directory go into accdata directory and in that director move or delete the second accdata directory, repeat your backup and it should then restore perfectly

Make sure that System Restore is activated on your computer. Some backup programs will not run unless it is.

I am trying to change the financial year end date in Sage Instant Accounts??

You can only do this is Sage 50 but you can get it changed by someone who has Sage 50 with the same version number as your instant. They can back up their data restore your date change the year and then backup and you can restore it on your computer and they can restore their data. NB they must be on exactly the same version.

Installed sage accounts 2010 but it cannot access previous data

Phoned Sage support and they talked me through fix. Worked first time.
System had created "~OLDDATA" file which prevented upgrade. Merely deleted and restored from error free backup.

Financial Year in Sage

If you are using sage 50 or Sage instant

the financial year can be changed in settings and financial year and click change button. However this is not available in all levels. It sounds if your backup may be out of date.

Restoring Sage back up file

All the back files that was created is on that other machine even while you may think its on that disk in theory YES but physically NO. Thats why you got this: Error message keeps coming up which is: programfiles\sage\accounts\company.001attachments\nominal\1200\statements\288.pdf Just one more try the disk you used look on it if it has the 288.pdf file you may be able to read it from the PDF software and then recreate it in the sage financial creater?
