Question about Dell Inspiron 2200 Notebook
The laptop has a faulty backlight. This could be either the backlight inverter board or the CCFL (cold cathode flourescent lamp). The inverter is more likely to be at fault than the CCFL. The fact that it sometimes works for a while suggests either a dry joint or bad capacitors. If you want to try to fix this yourself you will need atleast some soldering experience. The backlight inverter is usually mounted in the display. It may require significant disassembly of the laptop in order to access the backlight controller. Check the PCB for dry joints and replace any electrolytic capacitors on the PCB (a capacitance meter can be used to check the capacitors if you have one).
