I love, love, love my baby webber. I bought it when they first came out. I can only use the tall, blue propane bottle. I seen some where that they were using the short, wide, green one. My wire guide for my propane is smaller and won't allow me to use the shorter bottle. Did they change it?

The easiest solution to this problem is to remove the screw securing the wire tank holder in place, and then just bend the holder a little bit wider so that it will fit the slightly larger 16 oz green tanks found in the camping section of most stores.

You can even buy buy a hose connector adapter for it so that you can hook it up to a large home barbeque type propane tank if you want. See the following consumer reviews of that unit for more details and ideas:

Thank you and good luck.

I'm sorry you did not find my initial recommendations practical. But hastily handing out a 1 Thumb Up, which is the worst rating you can give out, to people who are just trying to help you, will definitely not improve your chances of receiving additional help here in the future. If a particular solution was not helpful enough to solve your problem, you can just ask for additional clarification or details before sticking someone with such a poor rating. Good luck.

The problem is there are 2 screws and quantity of the wire seems only enough to accomodate the smaller tank, the wire is pretty heavy duty and they both fit into a recess. I thought perhaps that they sell the other bracket due to a model change. Totally didn't mean to offend anyone, it wasn't meant to be taken at a personal level ,but, an application level. I have never been here before and I had no idea how this worked. I actually thought it was the Webber assistance site. Again, I meant absolutley no offense. Thank's for the heads up.

No problem. No offense. It's just that while 2 Thumbs Up ratings are obviously not desireable from customers, they do occur pretty regularly and more than a few are certainly to be expected. The 1 TUs though, are pretty rare and nobody likes getting them because they can significantly affect an expert's overall rating. So experts tend to be a little wary of customers who regularly hand those out. From what I have read, the new units DO come with a different type of bracket that allows the use of both types of tanks. But I think owners the older ones are stuck having to modify theirs themselves or fabricate new ones. You can always try contacting Weber to see if you can get one of the new brackets to fit your old model. Here is the address of the web page with the contact info: http://help.weber.com/contact.aspx Sorry I couldn't be of greater assistance than that. Good luck.

Converting a natural gas Webber genesis bbq to propane. Can you buy a kit to convert?

Hello, Kevin -

Do you mean a Weber (not Webber) Genisis grill? If so . . . see the information from the Weber grill company regarding the conversion of a natural gas grill to propane here:

https://consumer-care.weber.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001730474-How-can-I-convert-my-grill-from-liquid-propane-LP-to-natural-gas-NG-or-vice-versa-

Bottom line:
The Weber company does not recommend it and does not provide a conversion kit.

Best wishes.

How do I convert a natural gas BBQ grill to propane?

You change the nozzle or jet or the complete regulator that regulates the flow of gas. I have seen some company's that will sell you the part or the regulator. You will have to go the the Webber and see if they even offer the part. Or maybe a BBQ dealer who sells and services Webber might do it for you. I know most companies will not sell the part or parts because of the liability. Good luck.

My grill has full propane bottle but doesn't seem to be getting propane! Any help would be appreciated.

Check there is gas at the burners and that the orfices are not block or the burners are bot blocked .

Turn on burners let pressure out of line turn off tank remove gas line then reconnect to tank and turn on tank slowly see if this works

I have a Webber Q Family BBQ for about 2 - 3years. I noticed say last 6 months that the burners are not working properly and the grill is not hot enough ie take 3 times longer to cook a steak etc. I read...

OK, it sounds to me that when you changed the propane tank, you may have turned the gas tank valve on too fast. Doing so causes the built-in excess flow valve to check, which only allows a trickle of gas through. Do this: Turn off the gas tank, disconnect it and drain any remaining gas from the grill by opening a valve to a burner. Close the grill valve and then reconnect the tank. Very slowly open the tank valve and try lighting a burner again and see it that solves the problem. Douglas

Regulator vibration

Hello,
If you are using a disposable propane bottle, make sure it is not horizontal when it's hooked up. It should be at a 45 degree angle or higher. You may be getting liquid out of the bottle (instead of vapor) at the angle you have it hooked up. Hope this helps. Douglas

Cannot get good flame on the burner of my baby weber grill. I've tried cleaning it checked hose, tank, regulator, seems to have good flow, but low flame only, even when set in high????????

I had this problem with a brand new grill so it wasn't grease in the hose. Due to the new propane regulators you have to turn the propane tank on for at least a minute before turning the grill to light. Let the tank sit in the light position for five seconds and then you light the grill. This will keep air from getting into the intake hose and will keep your gas flame roaring high.

I was only able to get the grill up to 250 degrees before I found this fix posted on the Weber site. It is listed as the number one solution in the FAQ section.

Propane tank with regulator

You're fine using a regulator, just keeps the propane 'regulated' : ) Since you already have it, I'd try the one you have. I'd figure your regulator for the big tank is set for low pressure, really may be fine by itself, but the additional one at the Webber end won't hurt anything. This is a YMMV, try cheapest way first using what you have, not much of a problem to change to the other one if it doesn't work.
