The only thing I can think of if both places to uninstall are corrupt, is using system restore to take your pc back to a date before you installed the Puma software. If you are sure about when you installed it, you can use system restore by clicking on start, slide up to programs move up to accessories and then find system tools - and move to system restore and click on it. It will take you to a calendar of restoration points, choose one that was before the date you installed Puma. It will do some work on the pc, and then turn off and reboot back up and tell you if it was successful or not.

Cant find the add/remove programs in control panel, im using windows 7.. i want to uninstall IE9 and install IE8

Click the start orb in lower left corner of desktop and type "prog" without the quotes. At or near the top of the list of results that comes up will be "Programs and Features". This is what the add/remove control panel section is called in windows 7. Just click that and uninstalling works the same as it did in xp.

Corrupted Desktop?

No, this is a hardware setting. When you checked your display monitor for manual settings did you see any? There would be display width, height, pincushion, trapezoid, etc. Which monitor do you have? Also you can still have Internet Explorer installed with any other browser as your default. When you go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Windows Features select Internet Explorer to reinstall that. Firefox does not support ActiveX scripting which is necessary to run many Microsoft diagnostic programs so never completely uninstall IE. You may also just download IE7 which is a tabbed browser like FireFox. Choosing FireFox allows better security but that is only because it does not use ActiveX.
