Check your fuel filter again. Dirt from the tank could have clogged it again.

My car starts sputering and slows to almost a hault. when turned of and restarted it will resume for a short time

sounds like your fuel pump is going out. go to an automotive store and rent a fuel pressure gauge. while you are there buy a repair manual, inside the manual you should be able to find what the fuel pressure should be. haynes makes a good book, just remember to get the book that is for your cars year,make and model. also they would be able to hook up an obd 2 scanner to help you find out if your car is giving any trouble codes. lots of stores do that for free.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

Car ran fine shut it off came back it didn't want to start. started went about half a mile sputered an died wouldn't start back up 1991 subaru loyal wagon

Hi sounds like the typical fuel pump or filter problem with these cars, best way to tell is take top fuel hose off on fuel filter under hood, turn key on ignition (not start) and fuel should pump out, if not its your pump, just beware of doing when engine is hot

Our car will die sometimes in the morning and restart when we let it set for a little bit , then run all day for a few days and then does it again. Its just like a kill switch and just kills it .

We have had this problem as well. Chrysler is well aware of the issue. It is the instrument cluster behind the dash. Don't let them tell you it's the Body Control's not. If you bang on the dash just above the guage cluster, it will usually start or simply unhook your battery and let it sit for a bit and it should start after the alarm resets. It's a 15 minute fix to take the dash off and replace that instrument cluster. We paid WAY more money to have the BCM replaced and it didn't fix it and the dealership refused to refund us and fix the right thing without charging us more.

Truck has 305 motor fuel injected idles fine when in drive barely exelerating it spits and sputers and sometimes dies but when i get into the exelerator a litle bit it doesnt do it

if it is an HEI distributor remove the cap and rotor there is a module under the rotor take out the two quarter inch screws and unplug it take it to your local parts store and have it checked that is the module that controls the injection rate,if it is not HEI then do an injector cleaning,also try running a tank full of high octane gas through it the injectors sound like they have gunk built up in them,hope this gives you a place to start

Starting problems

It will likely be the crank sensor, usually fitted next to or behind the bottom engine pulley. A common failure is for the sensor to stop sending a signal when hot, and the engine will stall immediately. After a time, it re-starts but will cut out again when the sensor gets hot again. These sensors are easy to find and replace, and not usually expensive.
