Question about Sanyo Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

SANYO Model DTA-120 Audio System (Compact, Wall-Mounted) CD player does not recognize disks - spins the disk, stops and displays error message NO DISK. When this problem first occurred, one might get lucky after a few re-insertions. But it got worse, and eventually never recognized any disk inserted, at all.

Disk exchange system seems to function, changing CD's, but does not recognize a CD when s disk is selected and displays the error message "no disk selected"

The only thing you can do is clean the lens of the CD player. It's possible that dust has got inside blocking it. If that doesn't work, it will need to be taken to a repair shop as the lens might be damaged or an electronic fault.

What dsks does the CD player play. Does it play MP3 disks?

mp3 is actually a file format that made larger audio files take up less data space. If you have mp3 audio files on a compact disc(CD) it may play it if the player is designed to recognize the format. This was a much bigger issue years ago. Only way to tell is check the manufacturers specifications or simply try it. Good luck.

Error reading any dvd disks

Have you tried a DVD+/-RW ?

The noises that you are hearing will be the spindle motor trying to spin the DVD as the lifting presentation tray for the read/write head has not located, if the media is not spinning this will never be able to read the lead in on any DVD as it has not presented the disc in the correct place.

If is is out of guarantee then I suggest that you check to see if the DVD is spinning by removing the top cover with the power OFF then eject the tray and try to load the media a small touch of the DVD in the clockwise motion should cause the media to start spinning, this is for diagnosis only if this is the case then the spindle motor will need changing

Tray B of my RCA CD Burner does not recognize any CDs

Are you using the correct disc type??

The manual states that only discs that are labeled:

"Compact Digital Audio Disc Recordable" (Audio CDR)

*or*

"Compact Digital Audio Disc Rewritable" (Audio CD-RW) can be used.

The popular discs labeled "Compact Recordable" and Compact Disc "Rewritable" are for use in computers, and can NOT be used on the recorder.

Page 16 of the manual shows the graphic of the logos detailed above. The manual can be downloaded for free below:

When I try to play a C.D. on my system it gives me the following information. FRMTREAD, Error 15. What does this mean and what do I do to correct this problem? My system is a DEH2000MP S.N....

Consult your owner's manual for error codes. You have a disk/disk reader problem. A similar model Pioneer Manual indicates FRMTREAD as what is displayed while reading a disk. Error 15 equates to "The inserted disk does not contain any data". If this occurs with multiple disks, try the disks in a known good cd player. If they work there, it is likely a reader problem (alignment, bad reader, etc.) which would likely not be worth repairing or replacing in that unit.
