Question about Panasonic DMP-BD605 Blu-Ray Player
From your post, I understands that your Blu-Ray player does plays all other discs except Blu-Ray discs. If so, there is no doubt that its Laser Pickup Unit has gone faulty. There are two parts in the Blu-Ray laser disc assembly that emits laser beam to read discs. One part will be active when we insert CD,MP3,DVD. The other part emits blu-ray, as it indicates, which is energised when a Blu_ray disc is detected in the tray. In your device, this part has damaged. Threfore, it will read and play all other types of discs except Blu-Ray discs. There is no remedy other than repalce the Laser Pickup Unit with same type and number. Insist on same type and number, as it is the critical part of your device. The cost of it will be a little higher than normal DVD laser pickup unit, and placement also is crtical. If you are not aware in digital electronics and some experience in disassembling and reassembling this type of mechanism, never attempt to do this work by yoursef. OK.
