Question about Kenmore Washing Machines

1 Answer

We had to turn off our water a couple of times this week and now the kenmore washing machine keeps filling with water when it is not in use. We also have a kenmore water softener don't know if this has anything to do with it. it seems to fill up with water close to the time our water softener recharges. We don't have the maual to troubleshoot, no codes display when this happens as the machine is not on

If the machine is filling on it's own you have to replace the water valve located on the back of the washer.when you shut off the water and turn it back on sediment in the pipes can get disturbed and flow into the valve, when the valve goes to fully close it can't because sediment is inside the valve and stopping it from fully closing, the only way to fix this is to replace the valve, you don't want to come home to a flooded out home because of the valve.whenever you write about your appliances send the model number so i can look up your model and give you the part number, when you go to your parts store, give them the model number off of the machine and they will sell you the correct part.

Why dose water keeps filling wash when off oasis he 27082 top load

The timer turns the water on to fill, the pressure switch turns it off. If the water contacts are welded together (can happen over time) then the water solenoid will be on all the time. Easy way to check. Unplug the unit, then remove the electrical plug from the water valve (hot or cold depending which one is causing the issue) plug unit back in. If water stops filling the timer is bad. If the water does not fill then the timer is fine, but the water valve solenoid is bad.

You have said it all. OLD.

time to give it up and get a new one.

first, the cost of figuring out what part is defective and getting a replacement part may take a couple weeks and couple hundred dollars for the repairman.
second, you will STILL have all old parts on the rest of the washer.

third, if you buy a new washer, you have serious expectations of it working properly for at least 5 years.

My Kenmore moel #11027082602 ran while we were

Yes it is very possible. If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing.

Water keeps flowing does not stop---does not go thru cycles

You probably pinched the water fill hose that comes up from under the tub when you closed the cabinet. Also make sure it is free from trash in the bottom of the tub and that it is tightly connected to the water level switch.
