Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:

  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.
  10. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Reset lamp hours and then press enter .

Projector bulbs generate alot of heat. Make sure the vents are not blocked or dirty. Check the fan to make sure it is operating properly. Hope this helps.

Let me give you a exact model number that will work or you can stop at a best buy and pruchase a universal "expensive" or go direct to acer for this part number its a liteon PA-1650-02. that is the exact one you need for you laptop. Thanks

The projector comes on, lights up but then shuts off after 30 seconds

My TDP-T9 had the same symptoms. A 3300uF 10V electrolytic cap in the power supply (Liteon) unit was domed up, so I replaced it with a high-spec 2200uF 16V cap costing three dollars. The re-flow solder on the board was damn hard to melt though, needed 400°C setting on the soldering iron.

Won't power up at all

There is a chance that it is fuse protected inside.
When a filament-equipped lamp fails, it can create a momentary surge; you've probably seen this when a standard tungsten bulb flashes very bright in the process of dying completely.

If you no longer have the User Guide, you can download it here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ACER/PD120-_E

It may contain information about any fuse it uses.

Connecting to various Media projectors

Bruce,
Once you get a given projector to work with your unit, establish a user profile or a hardware profile that will include that device.
Do the same with your other clients and you should be able to store the info under different profiles.
You might name each profile by company name.
Best of Luck
