Question about Routers
I've recently installed a new router in my house but when I try to connect to the internet via wi-fi t doesn't work. It just says that the set up of my laptop is not compatible with the network. This is not the fist time that this has happened to me either. I had the exact same problem at a friends house before. My laptop is an Acer aspire 7720 G and it has the latest NLan wireless card so I don't understand the problem. One friend suggested that I change my computers IP address. Is this completely necessary or is there an easier way? And, if I must change the IP address, how would I go about doing that? Please bear in mind that I'm a complete wally when it comes to computers so everything will have to be explained in very simple language. Thankyou so much.
Each router has it's own IP address so you might have to change it and most routers have an ip that starts with 192.

First check if you are able view your wireless network in your laptop, and are you connected to the wireless network.. is there any other wireless computer going online through the same router.
