Question about Samsung yPR1 Player

1 Answer

I have a Samsung YP-R1 MP3 player, which is working fine. However when I try to connect to my in car music system (Landrover Discovery 4 HSE,)which is the latest model, and provides both a connection port dedicated for both I POD, and a USB along with on screen menu. When I plug into the port using Samsungs own USB cable it dose not work and the screen on the MP3 player switches off.I can indeed playback using a standard aux jack plug, but obviously it dosn't charge the player. Can you please throw some light on this problem. Is it to do with any settings on the player I can change ? Thanking you in anticipation you can help Regards Geoff Makin

The USB input is only designed for a USB Memory Stick with MP3 tracks on it, not an external MP3 Player.

My Samsung YP-S2 Mp3 player can't be recognised by computers when I plug it in through the usb input (it used to work), therefore I'm not able to upload music on it anymore. How can I fix this bug?

Samsung Player Is No Longer Detected By Windows XP, Vista, Emodio Or
Samsung Media Studio.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When your computer doesn't recognize your Samsung MP3 player, programs
such as Samsung Media Studio (SMS), Emodio, Windows Media Player
(10 or 11) do not allow you to transfer files to your player.
In SMS and Emodio, the portable icon appears grayed out.
In Windows Media Player, you are prompted to connect a device.
Your PC may fail to recognize your player for a variety of reasons.
To begin troubleshooting, scroll down, and then click the operating
system your computer is currently running.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Operating System Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Windows computers, Samsung MP3 players require at least Windows XP
Service Pack 2. If you have an older operating system such as Windows
2000 or Windows 98, your computer won't recognize your player until you
upgrade your PC to at least Windows XP Service Pack 2.
If your PC is running Linux or MAC, it will not recognize some MP3
players that support only MTP mode. However, it will recognize players
that support UMS mode and list them as mass storage devices.
The following Samsung MP3 players support UMS: YP-U1, YP-U2, YP-U3,
YP-U4, YP-U5, and YP-S2.
The following Samsung MP3 players support both MTP and UMS mode: YP-Z5
and YP-P3.
Windows Vista may fail to detect you device if the player is not
connected properly, Windows Media Player is not installed or has become
corrupted, Vista is unable to install the MTP drivers, or the MTP patch
is not installed.
You can check it out further by going to this website and entering the information about your player

When i was playing my samsung yp-k3 player it was ok but when i turned it off all of the files where gone...but when i connect it on the computer it shows that there are still files in my mp3 player

I have own both a YP-T10 and YP-S5 samsung MP3 players and have experienced this myself, (1) First I checked what format my music was in and also where it is located on my MP3. (2) Then I tried resetting it, You can do this by pressing the rest button on the back, Its a small hole only big enough to fit a needle or a pin into it. It won't delete any files, Only reset the player. Then plug it back into your comp, if the files show in 'My Computer' and 'EmoDio/Samsung Media Studio' they should work fine in your MP3 player again:) Otherwise you might have to back it up and format the player but try the first 2 steps first.
