Question about Kohler Plumbing

1 Answer

I have a Kohler kitchen faucet, model# K10416CP that is leaking around the bottom of the center ring just above the spout. It leaks very bad when we change the position of the spout. Can we fix this ourselves?

Yes, remove the nut and lift the faucet up and out, you will see a rubber washer/o-ring that is like chewed up, at any home improvement center, hardware store or even a discount in there plumbing section they have faucet repair kits. Either take the old piece or the faucet and match it up, then reinstall and it will all be good. Good Luck Tim

Tim, am I removing the entire faucet from the sink or does that center ring unscrew opening just the leaky area?

there should be a nut, it has grooves on the bottom of the spigot where it connects to the base, I believe it is righty tightly lefty loosely. you need not remove the whole faucet.

Thanks Tim, we will give it a try!

How do l fix our leaky kitchen faucet

If its leaking from the base of the spout where its attached to the body, its most likely the O rings that need replacing. The spout body could also be leaking as the metal is quite thin and can develop pin holes under the bottom face of the spout. To determine it that's the problem, turn the water on, place your hand under the spout body, you should not get any water spray, if you do (its usually a fine mist so its hard to see, but you will feel it) the spout is bad, replace it.

Need to replace O Ring but cant pull the spout off

there might be a allan screw holding it down usually located at the back of the faucet if not there is a chance that there is a screw on escutcheon just above the base of the spout this should screw off with a strap wrench.

You can just replace the o-rings. You have to remove the large nut at the base of the spout. I posted a blog post -and a video about me replacing mine.

Our American Standard kitchen faucet has become hard to swing from one side of the sink to the other. What could be causing this? Is there a bad part?

Hi! If there are no leaks from around the spout, you can remove the spout and apply silicone lube to the spout o-rings and resemble. If it is still hard to move ,replace the o-rings.

Moen kitchen faucet model 7430 leak

cartridge does not stop that type of leak. If it is leaking from around the base of the spout it is o-rings that are the problem that are onthe valve after you pull the spout all the way off.

I have a moen pull out kitchen faucet that leaks

You have a bad internal o-ring or the sprayer o-ring is leaking, if you look under the sink turn it off and then turn it back on, if you see it leaking out the center shft where the water pipes go into then the faucet may have a broken pipe or loose pipe. check and tell me where it's leaking at. You can buy kits to repiar them they are inexpensive.
