First of all, here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2010/HOUS2010_1153179-26.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

How do you remove the clutch from a model 359 chainsaw?

There is a special tool available, or you can insert a flat blade screw driver into one of the slots in the clutch centre ( they are designed for this ) and strike the end of the screw driver with a suitable hammer againt the compression of the saw, the jarring will eventually loosen the clutch, it is a left hand thread.

What is the fuel mix for 359

hi there troyandbec

pauly46 here
'
the ratio you should use is 50:1

that is 20 mils of 2 stroke oil for every 1.0 litre of petrol that you mix

so if you want to make 2 litre mix use 40 mils of 2 stroke oil , then add 2 litres of petrol only and give good shake

note use good quality 2 stroke oil , such as sthil or husqvarna oil from your outdoor power shop

but if using general 2 stroke oil from a garage use 40 mils of oil for every 1 litre that you mix
this ratio is 25:1 this mix is on the richer side

cheers hope this helps

Piston seizure in Husky 359 chain saw-how to remove old top end, evaluate damage and install new piston and ring or all new top end.

Probably going to be a paired piston&cylinder http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUSQVARNA-359-357-CYLINDER-AND-PISTON-KIT-47MM-/140580138020
you will need to replace both.. remove your muffler and see scorched(black streaks) piston, fused rings. Remove air filter and carb to see scored cylinder wall(on hot side)

The procedure is on page 35.
CAUTION: It only has 3 positions; forcing it beyond the stops may render it inoperative.

Chain saw no start

It needs spark, fuel and compression to run, which is missing?
Lets start with spark. Replace the plug (very inexpensive and great insurance), then do this:
Ignition Coil Test by SmallEng.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7WNBDRG4C4
You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

Before we get to fuel please download and follow the start procedure in your Operator's Manual here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
I own a Husky 359 that 1 time I forgot to set the fast idle (close then open choke). It was near impossible to start. I have missed the initial attempt to fire and flooded it too, again almost impossible to start.

If it has spark and the start procedure fails, put a teaspoon of fuel mix in the carburetor throat, open the choke, and pull. Does it fire and attempt to start? Yes it probably has a fuel delivery problem. Please repost with what you did and we will continue. HTH
Lou
IMO regardless of what your manual says ( yours probably 50:1) all 2-cycle engines should be operated on 50:1 (1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle engine oil). Once adjusted for this mix they start easier, pollute a bunch less, and do not foul out plugs, cylinders, or mufflers. Run lean conditions are most often caused by dirty air filters, air leaks not detected by the operator, or failing to add any oil to the fuel in the tank. Using a 32:1 mix prevents none of these occurring! I use a Pioneer chainsaw I purchased new early 1980 with a 50:1 mix.

I have a used husqvarna 455 what size scrench do i need

You can find both an Operator's Manual and an Illustrated Parts List for your saw here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Take your saw with you and stop by a local saw shop (regardless of brand). Odds are good they have the correct scrench and it will cost the same without the shipping charges.

My 359 scrench is 13 & 19 mm. HTH
Lou

Husqvarna 359 leaking chain oil

Remove the sprocket cover, bar, and chain. Find area where oil is discharged from case--is any part of the rubber seal damaged? Next, use compressed air to clean sawdust and dirt from oiler ports in rear of bar as well as the chain slot. Are you using motor oil instead of bar oil? Make sure there is nothing to prevent bar from making close contact with oiler port in case. Reassemble all parts and adjust chain tension.
