If the light in the cabin lights up and the plate rotates it indicates that the fuse is intact.
That only leaves the magnetron circuit to be checked. The magnetron is a device which generates microwave radiation for heating. It has has three parts :- 1) A heavy duty transformer 2) A high voltage rectifier and capacitor 3) and the magnetron.
The transformer seldom fails , and if the rectifier shorts ( which usually is at fault ) you will hear a loud buzzing sound when you switch on the microwave to heat.Since you did not complain of any buzz that leaves only the magnetron or a fuse before the transformer. The fuse would be typically of 8 to 10 Ampere rating.

The microwave does not heat up the food but everything works except the fact that it don't heat up the food

Hi!

The most common cause of the problem you described is a burned fuse. It is normally located inside the case, directly on a wire leading from the transformator to the magnetron. If you are not sure about those parts, please get a professional to fix the issue.

Good luck!

Can't heat food

So we can help you, please post a NEW question, and please include your brand name and the full model number from the tag in or on the unit, as well as the answers to these questions:

When you try to microwave are the inside light, internal cooling fan and turntable all working?

Is there any unusual noise or is it louder or quieter than normal?

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can be bad without that sound.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

M/N GLMV168KS4 - makes a rattling noise when heating food, but otherwise heats properly. All other functions are working. Any ideas of the problem?

It can be a sign of dying magnetron and possible damage to the microwaves chute. If the chute is damaged then the microwave is not repairable. Check the manufacturer warranty on the magnetron.

The failing transformer will cause a deep "growling" noise; the failure of the magnetron will sound more like a sizzle.

Does everything but heat food.

Sounds like the magnatron tube or it's fuse.

Have GE JVM2050 over the range microwave, which stopped heating food and water since this morning. All other functions including light, key pad, clock, turntable work normal. The magnetron sound also

if everything works except the heating, it is most likely the mag tube is on its way out.........that is the most common reason for it not too cook.......since the microwave is a GE and it is 3.5 years old, i would say you are better off buying a new microwave, the mag tube starts at around $70.00 and up + the labor it costs too have a service person put it in........around another $60.00

Microve turns on, but will not heat Model number is FMT148G1B2 Everything seems to work except there's no heat. Clock works, countdown timer, light, turntable, etc., just no heat.

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.
