Question about Garden

1 Answer

I bought two motion sensing diecast lanterns model HB-4190 series, SKU 248-593 and the instructions are hard to understand. To make it easy tell me how to set the device if I want it to come on only if they detect motion at night and stay on for 5 minutes then go off. They have two switches which are (test-1-5-10 min) and (off-3-6-dusk to dawn). Thank you Gerald

Hello Gerald. Each switch has a function. the the test-1-5-10 allows you to set it to test or an on period of 1 or 5 or 10 minutes. The off-3-6-dusk to dawn allows you to turn it off completely, operate from dusk for 3 hours, operate from dusk for 6 hours or operate from dusk to dawn. By operate I mean turn on and then stay on for the number of minutes you set it to with the other switch.

what's nice about the test setting is that with it allows you to check and b sure that the light will come on during daylight by setting the one switch to test and the otner to any setting but off.

If you leave the 2nd switch set to off the first switch will not allow you to test it.

How do I program the water softener?

Find out how hard your water is in grains. Find your Iron in ppm. Multiply your iron by 4 and add that to your hardness grains. This gives you your Compensated Hardness. for example... if you have 17 grains hardness and 0.4 ppm iron = 0.4 x 4 = 1.6 + 17 = 19 is your compensated hardness. This is what you tell your softener the hardness is. Iron is difficult for most softeners so this increases the salt dose to help your softener deal.

As far as actually programming the softener you should google your softener make and model if you don't already have a manual to tell you. You might even get lucky and find a YouTube video.

I need to change the battery on a Highgear LED Fuse Micro lantern model #10084HG

It's easy once you figure it out. Unscrew the top and then push down on the exposed screw threads with your thumb. The internal "guts" slide out the bottom.

if lights are haligen lights, you may be adding to the problem, never touch them after you have removed the lamps, do not use your hands to install them, oils from hands cause them to burn out quicker, use a cloth to install them do not touch lights

I have to agree with you on this I have just bought this dvd recorder and the instructions are so bad. The remote makes no sense at all and it is hard to get out of some of the menus.I am an IT engineer and this thing has got me stumped. My only advice as I have found out is not to rush the inputs as the dvd seems to take 10-20seconds to decide what it wants to do.
