SOURCE: Panasonic TC-P58S1 won't come on,

Hi Volvo2001,
1 blink is an "unknown SOS" error code sensed by the processor upon self check. Most of this fault came from bad power supply and the caused was the leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor in that board. It will dropped the supply voltage and will disable the unit. Plasma TV is the most hardworking TV's nowadays and work in high temperature most especially the power supply board which causes the capacitor to fail after about 2-3 years.
Leaky capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily be identified by visual inspections. See sample picture of electrolytic capacitor with bulged/dome at the top.

Dried capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition or you may replaced all of them in the output stage. It will not cost you much since this parts is one of the cheapest parts in your unit (price depends on the capacitance and working voltage ratings that is printed on its body).
Click this "Sample Video" "Sample Video" for more info.
You may open the back cover of the unit and check this parts in the power supply board where the power cord is directly connected. Look also for bad solder joints(cracked/dried/cold solder).
If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified tv technician or sent it in.
Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Don't attempt to open the back cover because it will void the warranty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a Panasonic Plasma TC-P58S1 TV will not come on & red light continuously blinks can you help me ?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/

I have a 1 1/2 year old Panasonic TC-P42U1 plasma tv. While watching a show, it suddenly shut off and won't come back on. What do you think caused this and how can i fix it? Thanks.

Try unplugging it completely for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Plug it back in. If it still won't come on, it's likely taken a power surge and popped a fuse or power supply, which means a trip to the service center.

Panasonic TCP58S1 has no pic. or sound. Red light blinks 9 times.

It's dead. 9 Blinks means the display adaptor is dead. If it's still under warranty, you're covered.
