Hi,

The speed selector seems to be defective. It should be tested/check. Apart from this you may need to change the control board.

I have a minn kota 65/35 pounds of thrust. 5 speed. Was running great. The prop got some monofilament wrapped. Took off plastic wing nut and star washer. Everything ok until I pulled on the armature and it...

You need to place the brushes back into their holders, with the springs compressed. Sometimes paperclips, molded into helpful shapes will aid in facilitating this exercise.
Next, you need to carefully place the armature back into position, taking into account the rear bearing, the brush holders and any other inconvenient structures that impede your progress....PS this is a great time to add grease to the bearings as they are not usually available for maintenance.
Finally, make sure that the commutator surface is clean and free of carbon residue from the brushes. Clean with a non-conductive nylon brush and something akin to brake cleaning fluid.
Before you re-assemble, look to see if there is a washer that is not flat but is "convoluted". This is a thrust washer and belongs in-place in front of the rear bearing. Consequently, it must be placed on the armature shaft before re-inserting it into the motor stator.
Once you have everything re-assembled you should be able to spin the motor by hand.

Hope this helps

I cant seem to figure out how to take my prop off my minn kota trolling motor. there is a plastic nut and a screw in the center of it. they both just turn. ive used a screw driver to turn the screw and...

I had the same problem tonight. I wound up getting it off by appling a diagional pressure to the prop. That held the shaft screw. Then my Dad turned the wing nut with a neddle nose pliars conter clockwise and it came right off.

My problem and probably yours too is once inside there is a pin holding the prop to the shaft that was broken. I don't know how to get the new pin back in since it is inside the prop with no access from the outside.

I have a kenmore 587.16163400 the top sprayer arm does not spin How do I fix it

Usually those arms are held on with a wing nut or thumb nut type connector in the middle. If it spins by hand but not by water pressure, the holes in it are probably clogged. If it won't spin by hand, it probably has a lot of stuff jammed in there. Take it off and clean it out.

Help. recently cavitated my 140 hp 1989 mercury outboard motor at high speed.I Removed the lower unit several times but only goes in forward about 5mph. Please help Tx jack

Not really sure what is wrong.Do all the gears work?Does the motor rev properly.Did you change the height of the motor. If the motor etc. are all ok and the motor cavitated at high speed, you may have spun the bush in the propeller hub.The symtoms are, everything works ok but the boat can rev but will have very little forward propulsion. If this is it,the prop needs to come off and taken to be rebushed. The bush stops major damage to the g/box if the prop strikes something.Hope this helps

Broken glass jug on kitchenaid blender model 5ksb2aer4

Look at the underside of the blade shaft. The metal wing nut on the end of the shaft secures the blade assembly to cream coloured plastic blade base. The wing nut also transmits the drive from the rubber coupling on your blender to the blade shaft. The wing nut has a LEFT HAND thread.
The left hand thread ensures the blade assembly does not unscrew during normal blender use.

Firstly disassemble the blender blade assembly. Place a folded tea towel over the blades and hold the blades firmly. If you do not use a tea towel you may cut yourself.

Grip the wing nut with your other hand and unscrew it CLOCKWISE.
Remove the wing nut. You can now remove the blade from the plastic base.

Put the blade assembly in the new jug and offer up the plastic base from under the jug so that the blade shaft protudes enough for you to install the wing nut.

Screw the wing nut ANTI-CLOCKWISE to secure the blades to the plastic base.

Do not over tighten the wing nut; you may have to replace your jug again at some point.

The prop will turn on my minn kota endura 44 but it has no power is there a shear pin on this motor

Odds are you have sheared the pin (slides through the prop shaft) holding the prop, or you have damaged the slot on the prop that the pin sits in.

Prop is secured to the shaft with a metal nut, or flat plastic wing nut. Remove the nut to remove the prop. You may have to pry, slightly, the prop from the motor housing. Removed, you will see a whole in the shaft where a pin should be located. If the pin broke, it probably hit the floor when the prop was loosened. If the pin is intact, examine the rear side of the prop and look for damage to the plastic slot where the pin would sit making contact.

If you've snapped the pin, you can make a replacement with a nail using a hacksaw. Replacement pins can also be ordered from Minn Kota. If the back side of the prop is damaged (recess for the pin to sit), the prop is toast. Replacement props are often carried by Walmart, and include a new pin.

If neither part is broken, perhaps the prop was just not seated on the pin correctly allowing the prop to freewheel.

Trolling motor will not spin with out being turned by hand.

Take the prop off and make sure the pin that goes through the shaft is in place. The prop could also not be sitting on the pin proper.

Starting problems

Auto or manual choke? Could be out of adjustment. Cold engine idle speed may be too low. Fouled sparkplugs may be producing a weak spark (always buy high quality plugs). Maybe a weak coil. Make sure it's covered at night. Do they sell electric dipsticks for MC's? Hope you find the problem. Good Luck.
