Good afternoon i have a performance power petrol lawn mover the fault is when you start the engine it kicks in and after a few minutes it cuts out and i cant find the fault please can you help me. many thanks dave macfarlane

im assuming there are no lights on the dash.
If you remove both battery terminal wire and touch them together (Wires only)
that will reset any fault stored and reset the computer.
hopefully that will correct the fault.

what engine does it have, how old is it and does in not have a bar you have to hold in to start/stop the engine?

sounds like the needle valve Seat is slightly clogged and the gas entering the Carburetor cannot keep up with the Draw from the engine.

Make sure the gas cap is clean and vented

check the FUEL plug. when unscrewing the fuel bowl it is the nut holding the bowl on. It sounds like it may be clogged

check to see if it has a fuel cut off switch if so turn it on but if not check to see if the cabuerator is getting fuel if it has a prime button on it push it a few time too put fuel into the cabuerator then strat it up if it start to go dead then work the chocke but do not countiue prime the cabuerator bcuz u will flood it out if u cant get it to work still check ur spark plug to see if it has filed out if so replace it.

Check your oil level in the engine, normally if oil starts coming out of the air filter, it means you have too much oil in the crankcase. Drain your crankcase to make it the right level, be sure to check you oil level in the engine on level ground. I hope this helped, Good Luck Please rate me, Thanks

could have water in fuel bowl or tank,coil could be heating up and stop firing or the plug

The 'DIPLOMAT' series of WEBBs is bad news, its NOT a WEBB! Webb were swallowed by qualcast-atco-suffolk, who dunped Webbs tooling, & dressed up punches & commodores in thin disguises, dumped the briggs & stratten engine for their own alloy job, & charged a rip off premium for the Webb decals!
The qualcast suffolk alloy engine suffers from a WIPAC electronic ignition unit. As it gets old, it fails, sometimes completely, sometimes as it warms up. Once cool, it works for a while again.
Not too hard to replace, but hard on the wallet, £69 genuine, £40 fake! On the whole its not too bad an engine if cared for & oil changed often. better to look on ebay for a cheap used HONDA engine & transplant! R-E-L-I-A-B-L-E !............I did! ( £35 honda gc series, 5,5hp! )
