Is there a utility program on the Toshiba that can be used to create a set of "System Recovery" disks, writing onto blank CD/DVD disks that you supply?

Satelite l750 factory recovery

did you try using the Restore Partition ?

Usually it is accessed by pressing F11 or F12 repeatedly on boot.

If your old drive is dead and you are installing on a new drive, you will need to contact them and get recovery disks. They cost $20-25 bucks or so.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Toshiba P205D-S8802 will not start up. Pressed power button, and hear the droves starting up and then stops. The screen remains black.

Hopefully you have more than 1 stick of RAM. I would remove 1 and try it again, if that doesn't work, try the other one. When it's powering up and then powering off quickly, that could also be a heat issue. Make sure all of the fans are powering on. Also you can try removing the battery, and trying with just AC power connected. Some laptops won't let you do this, but some will, and if the battery is causing the issue, it should work.
User guide can be found here, which will walk you through getting to the memory bay. http://www.retrevo.com/support/Toshiba-P205D-S8802-Laptops-manual/id/12395ag000/t/2/
If this helps, please provide a positive rating.
