In your internet browser go to http://192.168.0.1/ default username: admin default password: [none] If you cannot get into the setup interface, then you need to reset the router. Find the little reset button on the router (this has to be pressed with a pen or smth). And the password will be reset to the default password mentioned above. Please note that this will also reset all your settings. If you are using cable internet, this should not be a problem, but if you are using dsl, or similar you will have to know the wireless router settings. So make sure you can call the internet provider tech support, they can tell you how to set up the router again.
Assuming you are into the wireless interface now, go into Wireless. SSID : [name of your network] -> enter whatever you want your wifi network to be called. Channel: 6 You can choose any channel. 6 is the default. WEP: tick Enabled -> this will set up encryption to your wifi network, so that no one else but you can use it. WEP Encryption: Choose 128 bit. Hey Type: HEX Key 1: Tick Key1 and enter the key you would want to use. Make sure it is at least 12 chars long and use a comination of letters, numbers and special chars.
The WEP encryption is very vunerable. It is very easy for WEP keys to be cracked. Unfortunately your router does not support WPA encryption. I suggest you occasionaly change the Wifi Key, so that, you can still protect your network even if your key gets cracked.
I also suggest you change the default router password. You can do this at Admin > Tools

Can i use my WRT120N on neighbors WiFi Network

Hello there,

You cannot use this router to connect to your neighbour's router wirelessly. It is possible to share your neighbours internet connection with this router, only if you run a cable between. You will need a Range Extender or a Wireless repeater for this purpose.

Noisy water pipes when neighbours use water

Install air chamber to cushion sudden-stop of flowing water.
Water flow coming to sudden stop is called water hammer, and will bang pipes, but also loosen plumbing joints, causing leaks.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-electric-problems-with-water-heater.html#bang
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Flow-rates-water-hammer-600.jpg

Air chamber has to be vertical, and about 18" long, with cap on top.
By code each Hot and Cold line at each tap will have air chamber located behind the wall. So there are two air chambers at each tap.

In your case, you can probably add air chamber to your Hot and Cold lines and solve problem for both dwellings.

Water hammer is caused because water does not compress like air.
So when long column of water suddenly stops... the whole pipe-full of water comes to sudden halt... and that water could weigh 1-1/2 pounds ... and just like a hammer head moving, the weight of water bangs the pipes to dissipate energy, causing noise.

How can i hack into a wifi internet (DSL) ,Is any program or master password for it ?

If you are trying to access your neighbour's protected wireless network to get into his Internet connection There is no master encryption password.
To get your neighbour's Internet you need to ask for your neighbour's permission and if granted he will give you this encryption password.

I how can i connect to the internet by uesing my nigbor internet

First of all,you should have your neighbour permision. Then you'll need the security key for his/her
wifi/router. Go to the DS menu, choose system settings and then Internet. Select advanced set up, choose a connection and search for an access point. You should be able to find your neighbours wifi in the list. If you don't know which one it is, ask your neighbour. Enter the security key and you should be connected. However, if your connecting from your house, the connection may be slow or the signal may too weak to connect at all, which means you'll have to get closer.

I just moved into a new apartment and I am currently attempting to use the same linksys router that I used at my old place (without difficulity). My lap top in the bottom right corner displays...

> excellent connectivity

This refers to the wireless connection between your computer & your router, not to the connection from your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) out through your ISP to the Internet.

If you use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer directly to the cable/DSL modem, do you still have "intermittent" problems?
If so, then your router (or other wireless devices, such as your neighbours' router, or your neighbours' wireless telephones that are trying to operate on the same broadcast frequency) is the problem.

Motorola SB5100 and linksys router connection

The only thing that you need to setup on your Linksys for it to work with cable is to make sure that DHCP is enabled on the router.  You will need to plug your router into the modem via the ethernet cable and then plug your neighbors pc into a link port on the router (the cable modem plugs into the internet port)  You will also need to follow the reboot procedure.  Power everything off.
1: Turn on the surfboard and wait about 1 minute for the surfboard to make a connection with your ISP (the link light should come on).
2:Turn on your router and wait for your router to sync up with the surfboard . 3: Turn on your computer. Whenever you plug anything into a cable modem, you must recycle power to the modem.  It "remembers" the last device that was plugged into it, so it's memory needs to be cleared.

Securing my wireless network DIR615

the password you entered should prevent people from using yor network unless they have the password. Your network will still show on other peoples settings when they check for networks to connect to, but now you have added a password for your router it should say secured next to it when they try to use your network it will ask them for the password - pin - etc... and if they do not have it then they should not be able to access your router. Why not try to see if one of your neighbours can still access it now you have protected it with a password.

Network

as long as you are not using your own router to connect to your neighbours, as this wont work only one router on the network can connect to the net Im assuming your pc is trying to connect to the neighbours router, so you need to reset the router if you cant access it, it should have no password as default and the ip address of the router should be 192.168.2.1. get into your network cards properties and ensure obtain an ip address automatically on the TCP/IP line is selected. Go into the router settings and make sure enable DHCP is set to allocate ip addresses automatically and that the router transmits on mixed mode b and G, turn off any wep or wpa encryption until you have a connection. Do not use windows connection repair as it will totaly mess up your pc's ip addresses and stop you from connecting to the routers ip address.
