Follow diagram on the tag. typically low voltage and high voltage volt are diagramed on the tag. Most manufactures send pumps out already for 220. the A and B terminals are for pump wires. and the lines are for the power cord. follow the diagram and you can't go wrong;

Swimrite pool heatpump not heating pool

heat pumps do not heat as fast or effectively as a direct heat system such as propane or ng. they are only effective when the outside air is very warm otherwise they will actually cool the pool water.

Hayward heat pro error code HI

Low water flow, its heating up to high and doesn't want to melt itself down, sounds like a pressure switch problem or corrosion build up.

Heater has power but flashes code L.P

• The low-pressure switch senses the refrigerant pressure in the sealed refrigeration system to protect

against certain conditions that could be detrimental to compressor life. The switch turns the heat

pump off in the event of loss of refrigerant, fan motor failure, evaporator freeze-up, or airflow

blockage. The heat pump will automatically reset the switch after the system pressure rises to the
normal operating pressure. The display will show "LP", if this switch is tripped.

For more info, look at page 7 on this manual:

http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/Manual280.pdf

Either you need to defrost the coils, clean the air-flow chamber, get a new air-flow switch or you are running low on refridgerant.

LP (low pressure fault) is on screen.

This could be something as simple as a dirty filter. Heat pumps are notoris for pressure problems as they are very fickel. Make sure your filters are clean, then their should be a by-pass assembly on your inlet, outlet pipes for water this valve needs to be set at just the right spot to keep the water flow high enough to collect heat but not so high as to not warm enough. Setting this flow is easy enough with the unit on restrict the flow till the unit starts and wait to see that it keeps running. use a gentel hand and do this very slowley as the unit takes time to respond. But first make sure your filters are very clean and your baskets also. These are usually the culpret's when it comes to low pressure and low flow. The switch usually just tell's you that is where the problem is. If their is no corrosition or leaking at the pre. sw. more often than not it's ok and just tell's you to start looking for the problem. Good luck.

The code is "PS" for Pressure Switch and means there is insufficient pressure to operate (low flow) or the switch itself is bad.

LP (low pressure fault) is on screen.

Low pressure is usually a dirty filter ob basket. If you have a by-pass on the plumbing you can shut this down a little to get more flow through the heater. Or you may have a clog in your pump impeller. Hope this helps.
