Cannot see an eject button on the fridge; where is it? However, I have got the filter out, but the new filter will not lock in as it cannot be moved clockwise to the horizontal position

If so did you turn in clock wise to remove? If so the locking tabs are broken that hold the filter in place

not it be easier if your description is easy to understand.

Now try these steps to remove a stuck filter

1 > Push the "Eject" button to release the filter and immediately pull firmly on the filter in a straight motion.

2 > Turn the filter counterclockwise while pulling if the filter remains stuck.

3 > Push the filter in and then pull out while twisting slightly if the filter is still jammed.

4 > Insert a flat-edge tool such as the flat edge of a butter knife between the filter and the refrigerator to help pry the filter loose. Pop the filter out.

How to remove evaporator cover from inside freezer admiral model hmg64184

Hello Joann Carter,

Make SURE you are electrically UN-PLUGGED.

The repair books tell you to remove all the side rails... pull the screws... Disconnect the temp sensor (if equipped in this area (here you want to start taking lots of pictures))...

The thing is... removing the side rails is usually un-necessary...

A little clever negotiating of the flexible panel... and it can be MANUVERED AROUND (my opinion)...

Further opinion... after a complete open air defrost
(never apply heat (anywhere))... FANS will help... It is possible to blow air UP the defrost drain... & clear it.

Again... Verify you are electrically UN-PLUGGED.

Then negotiate some warm water (never hot) into the
Evaporator-drain pan... Success will be immediately
apparent in the defrost pan...

May take a couple of tries... (straw or flex tubing).

Only failing that... pull out the back panel .

Hope this helps!

Making clicking noise

Can you localize the sound? Is it is the freezer section, underneath, or in the refrigerator section? If it is in the freezer section, it could be a frost buildup around the fan or the ice maker not filling up.

If it is underneath, it could be that that contactor - relay is not staying connected, but that would mean that the compressor is not engaging and the refrigerator would not be operating.

In the refrigerator section - the fan could be a suspect.

Have moved into new house with Admiral freezer/fridge/icemaker. Leaks water onto floor from time to time under freezer. Ice maker not connected to water supply so not that.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Defrost drain is clogged causing this problem. Clear the dfrost drain and pan from inside the freezer section by removeing the freezer back cover plate and you will see from there. No extra parts required just patience.

Water Filter

Open the fridge site, look up at the top right corner, half way to the back, you'll see the filter laying horizontally against the top of the fridge.

Push a button with the arrow to pull down the cover, you'll see the filter.

Twist the filter counter clockwise to remove it. My filter name is Puriclean II. Yours could be different.

Is the back of the freezer section iced up?
If so you could have a defrost problem. All the cooling components are in the freezer section there is a damper controlled by a dial in the refrigerator that opens and closes.
If the damper is closed it will not allow air into refrigerator section. It is seperate from the Thermostat.
If the damer is opened to much you can start freezing food in the refrigerator section.
If there is ice on the back wall of the freezer section. It is not defrosting. There are 3 parts in the defrost process. The thermination stat, the heater, and the defrost timer or it's a timer on the electronic board behind the metal plate on the back of the refrigerator.
Good Luck

Does freezer cool like the cold food section? Did this suddenly happen, and frozen food began to thaw?  Most freezers control the cooling in the cold food section. The freezer must work fine before the cold food section will work fine. Let us know more, Thanks JT
