The combs are only wedged in. Hold the handle on a firm surface and hit the comb with a hammer.

Remove pulley from mower deck blade shafts

take belts off, loosen big nut on top of shaft, leave that big nut on the shaft just a few threads then take a hammer and tap on that nut to loosen the shaft from the bearings, take nut off then the shaft should fall out, if your bottom bearing is stuck on the shaft itself its gunna be fun to take that off, but if it didn't get stuck then take a punch and hammer to the bearings go thru the top to get the bottom one and vice versa, your gunna need a hammer for most of it, hope this helps its not that hard

How do I remove blade spindle from housing on Mountfield 1436m? I have removed the pulley and the blade boss. I have removed the circlip from the blade side of the spindle. The spindle still seems ver

This will require a heavy three pound hammer and two pieces of hardwood to support the hub. It is really supposed to be pressed in. But support with blocks, use a piece of oak between shaft and hammer to keep from damaging the shaft. I t may require many hard blows. If you have a press, that is the way to go. Spray some PB blaster penetrant on it and let it sit for awhile. You should have to pound down away from the snap ring. Hope this helps, please post a comment that this is solved on So I get credit for a solved problem if it does. If not, check back and give me more info.

Disc removal

The button does not disengage the blade, it only locks the blade/motor from spinning so you can remove the locking nut. Lock the spindle/motor/ blade, from moving and then remove the locking nut or disk. Should be counter-clockwise.

What are the main metals consist in a knife's blade?

There are many metals used to assemble a knife, but the main blades are forged from bronze, copper, iron, steel, ceramics, and titanium. If you're buying a new knife I recommend to use titanium made knife, it's very high quality an titanium is the best stainless steel.

What is the largest demo hammer that the sds floor scaper should be used with? we seem to break the blade with the small 35 lb demo breaker

Worked at a tool rental store while attending college and learned some tricks from the old-timers. To extend the life of flexible blades such as the one used on floor tile removers, use a second shorter blade on top of the longer blade (double blades). The shorter backup blade tends to absorb the extra force making the longer blade last longer before breaking. The length of the shorter backup blade is trial and error, however start with about 3/4 to one inch back from longer. The wide chipper bits tends to break also. The wider the bit, faster to break. No matter what size hammer. Has to do with the bit hitting the stop on the forward motion. Some older chipper hammers that had rubber or spring loaded bit stopper would prevent wide chipper from breaking so fast. Good luck

How do we get nails unstuck

Removing jambed driver can be very difficult. I use an old driver closely matching driver in the gun so that I know it will fit the nose. I grind the side of the used driver slightly to allow space for the jammed nail to pass the driver that I am using for ram otherwise the ram (used driver) will jam up also. To protect head and cylinder from damage I remove them and set to side. Place body of gun on soft wood and hammer old driver blade with heavy copper or brass hammer. Striking driver blade metal with regular hammer will/could produce flying metal chips (use eye protection) Good luck

How to change dewalt DW304 blade

In short, with as little force. 1) use a hex key to remove a small bolt at the tip of the reciprocating blade holder, right at the base of the blade. the blade should now wobble, but you may not be able to pull the blade free. 2), turn the saw so that you are looking from the front, blade pointing right at you. now slide the blade as far to the LEFT as possible. this should be the position that the blade clears the little round retaining nub on the left side of the shaft that fits through the hole on the blade and pulls free. sometimes the blade is too thick or is bend so this is difficult. 3) try yanking or wiggling while the blade is slid as far left as possible. i just had to pry / knock the blade free with a screwdriver and hammer. there is a narrowing at the very base of the blade before it enters into the mounting hole, and i just used a screndriver wedged in there and hit iy with a hammer WHILE having the blade slid over into the left position. 4) to make it easier for yourself the next time, use sandpaper to remove the paint of the base of the new saw blade, so you will be able to easily pull it free.

Cannot remove blades for sharpening removed the center bolt from the blade that goes into the shaft and could not get the blades off the shaft Do I need to take a sledge hammer to it?

Spray the blade/shaft top and bottom with WD40, etc.,and let soak for awhile. Take a pipe wrench, as large as you can get under the deck, and place on edge of blade about 4 inches from shaft. Use the wrench as a fulcrum to pivot the blade off. If needed do both sides of blade until it lets loose. Hope this helps...
