I had a stubborn clogged drain pipe. It took 4 times with a 3/8 " power snake until I stopped getting calls from the tenants. The chemicals I bought were no use.

SOURCE: Cold water Washes

It is normal for the machine to cycle between hot and cold water when filling even if selecting a cold cycle. The reason for this is because even a cold cycle requires the water temperature to be 78F for the soap to break up efficiently.

During the cold months the water in your pipes is probably less than 78F so the machine will need to add some hot water to bring it up to this temperature. Basically, it is adding cold and then hot water to maintain a temperature in the tub of 78F for cold water cycles.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

The solenoid valve that lets hot water into unit is not opening. Check out the valve itself and the timer cam that feeds power to the cam.

This machine does not have a heater. You could use a Y connector or just cap off the hot and only use the cold settings.

When my top load washer is first filling with water, our pipes sound like they are clanging - is something not hooked up correctly?

NO IT SOUNDS LIKE A PLUMBING PROBLEM CALLED PIPE KNOCK THE MACHINE TAKES IN WATER FROM THE MAINS WHICH CAUSES THE PIPE TO MOVE TIE DOWN WHERE THE PIPE IS MOVING AND FIT A CLAMP

Why is my warm water is cold? The hot is hot and cold is cold but warm is cold.

There is too much pressure on the cold feed, reduce the pressure on the cold by partly closing off the tap on the cold.
Or ensure the hot feed is fully open and not blocked, check if there are filters inline - remove the feed pipes at the washer end and look into the inlet valves - clear if blocked.
The inlet valve is common to hot and cold water with only a small pipe to fill the machine, the cold water is being forced back up the hot water pipe due to the pressure you can feel the pipe cool down after running hot then go to warm, if hot water is flowing the pipe will stay hot, if not then cold is going up the hot pipe.

Plumbing

it depends if you have the connections already there. If not then you can make a tee branch from the hot and cold pipes running to your kitchen sink. Then solder 2 15mm branch pipes. this will now be your hot and cold feeds to your machine. At the end of the branches attatch a washing machine valve (red for hot, blue for cold. You can now attach the hoses from the machine to the valves you have just fitted. Really easy
