I have a Sanyo Flatscreen, the original remote was lost. Now when I turn on the TV the picture is to big to fit. HOW do I adjust it without the remote?

use the menu button on the side of the tv
that brings up the screen menu
using the channel and volume buttons move around until you find aspect ratio
find the one that fits the screen and press the menu button to save and exit
it could be a pixel setting so find pixel settings while the menu is on the scree and adjust to the correct pixel setting
there are plenty of remotes for tv units on e-bay
all you have to do is select one that is for sanyo led/lcd tv's and read the details to see it it works your model tv

How to Troubleshoot Vertical Lines on an LCD TV Screen

<p>There are two prevalent formats for video programming: full screen and wide screen. LCD TVs are designed to show a wide screen picture to go with high-definition (HD) programming. When standard-definition (SD) programming is watched on an LCD HDTV in its default settings mode, there will be two vertical lines on the right and left sides of the picture. You need to go into your TV settings menu to troubleshoot this issue.<br /> jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); <span><br /></span> <span>Instructions</span> <ol> <li> 1 Press the "Menu" button on your remote control and open the "Picture Settings" sub-menu.<br /> </li> <li> 2 Select "View" from the list of options.<br /> </li> <li> 3 Choose a viewing mode that will eliminate the vertical lines. Select "Zoom" to crop the on-screen image to fit the screen. Picture doesn't fit the screen

Its a function of the source and the tv picture settings. Go to the source (direct tv, cable, co-ax?) menu , settings and look for screen display sizes.
Your remote has a red dot "wide" button which will also have a screen size effect. You can cycle through the formats

Good Day, WADE N;

Some Models will shut down when no signal is detected.
Try unplugging the TV from wall/power source for 3 to 5 minutes.... plug back. Same thing? Go into OPTION MENU, press 'MENU' button on the remote > enter 1270. Choose reset system. If not there go to the SERVICE MENU, press "MENU > 1257 (same thing).
CAUTION: before you change any settings, document them (write down).

Good Luck, big IRISH.

I have a T5054 TV and the picture has zoomed in and is way too big, however in the picture settings menu the zoom option is not highlighted in Component mode.

There could be a problem, but verify the settings as listed in the owner's manual as follows:

1 Press the MENU button to display the menu.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Picture, then press the ENTER button.
2 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Size, then press the ENTER button.
3 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select the screen format you want.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the EXIT button to exit.
16:9 : Sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode.
Zoom1 : Magnifies the size of the picture on the screen.
Zoom2 : Expands the Zoom1 format picture.
Wide Fit : Enlarges the aspect ratio of the picture to fit the entire screen.
4:3 : Sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode.
Just Scan : Use this function to see the full image without any cutoff when DTV
or HDMI 720p/1080i signals are input.
Press the P.SIZE button on the remote control to change the picture size.

And realize the restrictions as listed:

• In TV, VIDEO, S-VIDEO, and COMPONENT(480i, 480p) modes, all screen
modes can be selected. (16:9 ➞ Zoom1 ➞ Zoom2 ➞ 4:3)
• In COMPONENT(720p, 1080i) or HDMI(720p, 1080i) mode, 16:9, 4:3 and
Wide Fit can be selected.
• In Zoom1, Zoom2 and Wide Fit modes, you can move the picture on the
screen by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button.
•You can not change the picture size when PIP is set to Double.
•When Double ( , ) mode has been set in PIP, the Picture Size cannot
be set.
•Wide Fit can be used when watching a Digital HD (High Definition) signal.
Wide Fit sets the optimum picture format by expanding it both horizontally and
vertically. For example, you can reset the picture in 4:3 format to 16:9. Wide Fit
does not support all external devices (DVD, VCR etc.).
