My webcam does not work, not regonised in usb port. i am running windows xp.

First make sure that the Bluetooth and webcam device is connected and installed properly in the device manager

  • control panel
  • system
  • hardware
  • device manager

If not install then install it as-

  • Then Right Click on My Computer select Manage then Go to the Device Manager and Click on Update Hardware Option
  • After updated you see a Icon as yellow Question Marks with The name of your Device.
  • Just Right Click on it and select Update Driver
  • Do as per the given Direction.

Try running the program in compatibility mode for an older version of windows such as vista or xp. If it still causes the usb problems it may have to do with outdated usb drivers. Try running the program in safe mode and see if that works.

If it will only work in safe mode and your usb drivers cant be changed, then you should just buy a new webcam for install a generic webcam driver for it.

Try another USB cable to see if that works. Also try pluging the cable into another port on your computer in case the port you use for that application is worn causing a bad connection. start with basics first.

The CD is probably out of date as issues arise in service and patches have to be applied. Some lifecams do need additional software and yours sounds like one of them. Some only operate with IE.

There is a hardware problem of your webcams. To determine that it is the webcam then insert the webcams in the other computer to know that it is really working or not.

Normal 0 You need to go to the manufactures site and download the XP or VISTA driver for the camera. Then follow the info below to install the program.



Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
