I bought a chronograph WR 100 on October 2010 and not using it since then, leaving it on the box. Maybe checking it every month and still running when suddenly check it now, the second hand stopped running while the hour and minute were ok. Can you please give me an advice on what to do with it?

I have a Dell Vostro 1520. I bought a replacement battery in october 2010 and it stopped charging at all in June 2011. they tested it at the battery store and said it was irreparable. So i bought a new...

Lithium batteries mustn't be fully discharged or it can loss the possibility to recharge it: only every 2-3 months you have to dischage it until the pc shuts down and then recharge to preserve its capacity. Is normal that in the battery remain some volts but ther's no sufficent ampere to make works the pc, listen if someone has different ideas but I think you've to buy another one.

I have used it only 6 month after purchasing, but it's battery gives only 15 minutes backup even if i don't do any was bought in Dubai in 1st October 2010

Chances are that the battery can be bad. You can call into the manufacturer and have them replace the battery. It should fall into the 1-yr battery warranty that 99.9% of manufacturers have. No battery should go out that fast. I say that it was faulty.

Acer 5100 noise from speakers and cpu runs 100%

Even though you bought the laptop used, you can try going to and leave a message they may be able to give you more advice.
I am thinking it could be the DVD drive or maybe even a memory issue, not really sure, maybe you need to add more memory, I think Acer will be able to help.
Good Luck.

The WR-100 is slightly smarter than the average basic weather radio and therefore has a fair amount of programming loaded into it's firmware. (for good or bad)

It's not impossible for a power failure or spike to cause the internal processor to become confused every once and a while.

You may need to perform a full reset.

Remove the power adapter, remove the batteries and then press and hold the "WEATHER / SNOOZE" bar to bleed off any remaining charge in the capacitors and then plug the AC adapter back in.

Install fresh or known good batteries.

You've now essentially "rebooted" your radio and hopefully it will now function correctly again.

The only drawback is that you will have to reset any custom programming. As nifty as SAME technology is, I rarely use the function.

Not receiving alerts anymore...

My wr-100 came with a special note inserted with the instructions that the WR-100 was programmed to not give off an audible alert on tests. This is to supposedly protect you from thinking you have a real emergency. Mine is new. Maybe the older ones had an audible test alert. I assume yours gave an alert at one time??
