Question about Computers & Internet
Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
The sliding mechanism of your mobile phone has a flexible paper like wire bundle called a wire strip. With time the wire strip becomes faulty and starts to have cracks in it. When this happens the display or the earpiece may not work. When you slide it up half way it works because the broken strip comes in contact for a moment. I will recommend you to take this phone to a Nokia service center. They will remove the faulty strip and insert a new one. They wont charge you much. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to comment again. If this solution was helpful to you, kindly rate it.
