Transparent line on top only when a video its played

is this a DVD/BluRay movie or is this a movie file like an MPG, AVI or MP4? If it's a movie disc then you should try a different codec or different player. If it's a video file it was probably transcoded that way and you would have to crop it and re-transcode it it in video editing software.

Hip Street 7334- 4g Video mp3 player Hey um what kind of video file does the video have to be to play in my mp3 player does it have to be .avi, .mp3, .mp4, .flv or what? please help me because I can't...

Hi Aaron - Your player plays back .avi files (Xvid or Divx) but with a screen resolution of only 128 x 160 make sure you only load low resolution files (the standard for web use .avi files is 320 x 240) but many are higher res than that and they would have trouble playing on your player.

I would suggest you use some free software like mediacoder (Windows but there are Mac and Linux equivalents) to rencode video to your resolution and certainly no higher than 320 x 240.

Good Luck,

Mikeywaf

Assuming I've got the right device, you can see the formats supported are listed at the top. I've had a look at the Toshiba website, and there are no downloads for your drive, however, I think you can get the user manual from here:-

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp?service=UK

Its worth checking out, because there may be a firmware update option in the menu which may help.

From what I've seen, it has an operating system, if so, check the menu options here, see if there's a System Update option. Again, that could update your codec lists.

Finally, this is just a guess, but if there is an operating system, its probably Linux, there should be a software download option, see if you can download and install a programme called VLC media player. Its about one of the best.

Most videos I add to my mach speed trio v430, are in avi format, but when added to the player say file format error! they play on my computer in the VLC player, so i do not understand why they do not play...

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!
Hi. If you're like me you just bought one of Mach Speed's mp3/media players (I have the Trio/Eclipse Model G2, it looks like the Ipod Nano). I bought it at Big Lots for about $30. Everything works except i can't get video to play on it! Here's what i found after hours of trial and error:
Seems mine (hopefully this will work for yours) will ONLY play either FLV or RM files. If you have AVI or other kinds of video files you can use this great software to convert to FLV:
http://download.cnet.com/Koyote-Free-FLV-Converter/3000-2194_4-10832044.html?tag=mncol
It's free and it won't put a watermark on the video...which is great 'cause all the other free ones out there will. Anyway i hope this helps.
