Hi just read your posting. Is this machine the 5100 Whirlpool front loader. If it is the the only filter on this machine is the drain pump filter. It is located at the bottom of the machine either behind the kick plate or behind a small door. When you locate the pump filter unscrew it anti clockwise and then clean it and replace. Put some towels down for the water that will come out from the machine. Please reply on how you got on.Looking forward to your reply.

Failing to Load Water

How old is it ???

The washing machine does not evacuate water and does not go in spin cycle.

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

The washing is coming out very wet, like it hasnt been spun, and sometimes the door will not open and you have to put it on an extra spin cycle or wash it again so it "finishes" and lets you open...

these are normally fantastic machines.
the metal flapping about does not sound good all the same, possible the drum is beyond repair........first of all get a basin and and put the waste hose down into it. this will siphon the water out of the machine and allow you to open the door. when you get the water out check the filter for a blockage. if you find plastic shards( grey color) in filter you will need a new machine im afraid.

Do not spin

If the unit is washing, ie the motor is turning the drum slowly during the wash part of the cycle, the the no spin will usually be due to the machine not draining all the water or doing it too slowly, check the pump filter (if it has one) for coins, debris etc. Check the the outlet pipe is clear particularly if it is connected directly to the plumbing under the sink, remove the grey washing machine hose from the spigot on the plumbing and check both bits for obstructions.
Hope this helps.
ps if there is no motor action on any of the cycle then it may be the motor brushes or the motor itself.

My Zanussi washing machine is smelling

I have this problem with my Siemens machine, it is due to mainly running low temp washes and bateria building up in the hoses etc. (more prevalent if the machine is connected directly to the sink and not on a stand pipe). I run a 90 degree cycle every 4 weeks with the machine empty except for two capfuls of baby sterilisng fluid (approx half a mug) I buy stores own as it is cheaper than miltons. The first time I did mine I ran the cycle twice to be sure it was cleared out. My machine is six years old and the first smelly signs were when it was about a year old, I run the maintenance wash religiously ever 4 weeks and run a machine descaler such as oust thru every 4-6 months. Hope this helps. Roni. (ps don't be tempted to use bleach as it foams up and can cause more problems!!)

0E flashing on Westinghouse LF708C Washing Machine

Had the same problem. After checking that all the hoses etc were clear and no blockages, then suspected that the pump (cost $90 Australian dollar) was faulty. The Westinghouse service technician acknowledged that that was probably the problem, which I then confirmed by pulling out the pump, and then carefully connecting 240V across the pump terminals. Certainly was a faulty pump. So I spent the money on a new pump and installed it and now the washing machine (6 to 7 years old) works fantastically.

Wash times are outragious

Sounds like water pressure is very low, maybe due to clogged filter at the inlet. This would also account for containers not emptying. Need water flow to do this.

Error code 20

Hi, I also got the error code E20 when the filter became totally blocked during the washing cycle (due to a pair of my son's old work jeans!). Once I cleaned out the filter everything worked ok again. Put a large bowl under the filter as you unscrew it; a fair amount of water could be there. Regards, John
