Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Factor quadratic equations

The calculator cannot do symbolic algebra. If equation is aX^2+bX+c=0, write it in the form a(X^2+(b/a)X+(c/a))=0 and solve the quadratic equation X^2+(b/a)X+(c/a)=0. Get the approximate roots X1, and X2 (if they exist) and write your original equation in the for
a(X-X1)(X-X2)=0
Your quadratic polynomial is factored as a(X-X1)(X-X2)

How am i supposed to solve a quadratic equation ?

Use the quadratic formula, or factor the quadratic polynomial. Once factored into a product of two first degree binomials, the roots are obtained by setting (in TURN) each binomial factor equal to zero.

How to solve quadratic equations on fx82ms calculator

You can do it the same way people did it before calculators were invented. Just use the quadratic formula: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadratic_formula. Some sophisticated calculators have generalized equation solvers that can handle equations much more complicated than the quadratic, but the fx-82 isn't one of them.

How can i solve quadratic equation (aX^2+bX+c=0) with my BA II plus texas instrument calculator?

The BAIIPlus doesn't have anything specifically for solving quadratic equations. You can simply plug the coefficients a, b, and c into the quadratic formula.

How do I solve quadratics on my 531x Sharp calculator?

There is some confusion here.
In stat mode [Quad] the calculator tries to fit a quadratic function to your (already entered) data. It gives you the coefficients a, b, and c of the 2nd degree polynomial that best describes the data.
To solve an equation you need to use the solver not statistics.

I want to solve an complex equation on casio fx-570 ES Plus

Your scientific calculator is unable to solve complex equation with complex coefficients. You should try to solve by hand directly using the quadratic formula or by factoring the polynomial in z
failing that, another way would be to set z=x+iy, substitute this for z, carry out the algebra and try to separate real and imaginary parts. But your two equations will constitute a system of two quadratic equations. I am not aware of any general method to solve coupled nonlinear equations.
Good luck.

How do i factor

This calculator is unable to factor a polynomial expression.
In general there are a few factoring methods
  1. Factor by grouping terms
  2. Factor by completing the square (quadratic polynomial)
  3. Factor by finding two integers such their sum is equal to the coefficient of the middle term, and their product is equal to the third (constant term). This is valid for a quadratic polynomial where the leading coefficient (of the x^2 term) is equal to 1. X^2+SX+P
A cubic equation can be solved algebraically, although two solutions may be complex. Use the Cardano formulas. A quartic equation can be solved by the formulas for the quadratic equation, if you transform the quartic equation to look like A(X^2)^2 + B(X^2) +C=0

How to find roots of a polynomial using fx 115 ms

It depends on the degree of the polynomial.
If polynomial is od degree 2 or 3 you can use the EQN mode (the equation MODE) by pressing [MODE][5:EQN] to enter Equation mode then press [3] for quadratic polynomial or [4] for a cubic one.
You will then be prompted for the various coefficients. The canonical form of these polynomials is aX^2 plus bX plus c= 0, and aX^3 plus bX^2 plus cX plus d=0.

If polynomial is of degree higher than 3, or for a general non-linear equation you must use the Solve( feature. See example #017 on page 6 of the appendix to the manual.
