Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

While plugging in a D.V.D.s connection the unit stopped responding to the remote control or the manual controls under the front panel. It will not respond to anything except pulling the plug out of the power point. There are two lights on the front of the unit: a green one under what looks like a clock symbol and a red light on the right side of that.Any help would be appreciated!

    the T.V.is a Toshiba C.R.T. 29"flat screen with Bomba sound. Model no. 29SZ5DA. 240 volt. 50/60 Hz. 126W

I had unplugged the set overnight until I could get a new component connection as you suggested. This morning I plugged it into the power source and the green light with the clock symbol did not come on, only the stand bye red light. The T.V. then responded normally to the remote start-up! It appears I had some how triggered a timing device which disabled the set, when attempting to connect the D.V.D. player via the front panel connections.

So I was excited thinking all was well, but now we have a blue screen and I can't get the video channel. We are on a digital satellite system employing a set top box and I am using the same arrangement as before but don't seem to be able to find which setting will access the digital decoder! I can bring up the various menus but no picture.

Hello -- Unfortunately, your TVs manual has been deleted from the Toshiba website, as it is outdated. So I can give you solution that I'm sure that may work. Connect the DVD with TV using 'component video' connection, ie, Y, Pb, Pr with a component cable, and select the input of your tV to video-1 or video-2, as the component video is connected to the rear of the TV. This must solve your problem. I've given you this solution as Toshiba 29As41 manual says. OK.

If you have its user manual with you, look for a reset option is there. If so reset the tV, to its original factory settings. This will help you. There is no way to get the manual of your TV model, i've searched so far, and Toshiba website has discontinued giving CRT based TV manuals, as I enquired them. OK.

Good. Feels very happy to know that your TV is working properly now. Good luck.

If your TV and set top box both have Digital Out [HDMI] compactable, connect the set top box with HDMI or coaxial cable, and select the input of the Tv to respective input signal. If HDMI is not there, co-axial will surely will. OK.

ONKIO HT-R580 THE FRONT PANEL NOT WORK

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Check Power
Check the outlet by plugging an appliance into the same outlet the washer was plugged into an running the appliance a hair dryer works good for this it will draw some amperage. If it works fine move on.

Control
To check the control remove the top panel and then remove the console to access the wiring to the control. Find the wire feeding the control from the main power cord. If you cannot visually see this refer to the tech sheet or service manual. Connect voltmeter to the 2 wires feeding the control if it is recieving power and it does not respond replace the control.

Toshiba 32a14 does not respond to remote control

Hello
There is a infrared light sensor inside the TV which detects the infrared rays emitted from the remote control, when we press each button on the remote control. If this sensor has got damaged, the set won't respond to any remote control handset. The sensor can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. To access it, you have to open the TV. It is a three terminal component, will be soldered diretily to front panel circuit board, of with the main baord itslef. Will look somewhat brownish black in colour. There are so many types can be seen . Just look what type if fitted with your TV.

This could be a stuck button on the front control panel or a bad solder connection on one of the switches on the front control panel.
