Question about Kenmore 24422 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My kenmore washing machine mod. 24422300 cr 3413553 will not stop filling with water when it's set at large load, it will overflow. If you set it at small load it fills the tub to the level for a large load. When You set the dial to medium load, the water level is almost over flowing over the tub. Do you think the switch is defective or could it be something else? Thanks. Paul

The pressure switch underneath the control panel is bad it is a pressure switch and will have a plastic hose connected to it along with some wires

My Kenmore washer fills correctly and then agitates. But it won't stop filling to then switch to the rinse cycle.

Your wash machine doesn't know that the tub is full. Open up your console and look for a vinyl tube attached to your water level switch. Take the tube off of the switch and blow into the tube to clear out any blockages. Then, put the tube back on and test the wash machine. If the problem persists, then you need to replace your water level pressure switch AND the vinyl tube (just in case it has a small hole in it somewhere along the way).

You can buy the switch, which comes with the tube, here:

Good luck!

In the begining of was the water won't stop filling, it overflows and it won't go to the wash cycle (adjetate) however I can turn it to the rinse cycle and it will drained and spins?

Possible that the water level sensor has failed.Shut down washer and trace the sensor which is a pressure activated switch from the drum overflow. the switch can be activated by blowing and checking continuity. if so replace the unit

Model # 110.26832692 does not stop filling up with water when the load selector size is set will overflow if I don't stop it!

Hello,

Their are 2 possibilites causing it to overflow

1) the water inlet valve that the hoses from the house plumbing attach to is sticking open, when it sticks it will stick open regardless if thier is power to the machine or not,so to determine if that is the problem, start the washer and quickly unplug it,if the water continues to fill, that valve is sticking

2) the water level switch is defective,do the same as far as starting it,if the fill stops when power disconected it's the water level switch that is in need of replacement

Good luck, i hope this helps to figure out what is wrong with your washer,

Water was overflowing over the top and flooding the laundry room

If it was left in the reset position then it could absolutely pushed the diaphragm in the air switch to a point that the contactor couldn't reach it. Set it on a large load, let it fill and watch it. If it starts to overflow, pull the plug out, if it continues filling, you need a new water valve on the washing machine and if it stops then you need a new level switch

Fill will not stop

you may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Overflowing water

If the water comes out when filling, check your water valve by unplugging the washer when it is filling. If the water still runs, replace the valve. If the water stops, check the small tube that goes from the water pressure switch (in the consul) to the bottom of the tub. This must be connected without any holes or obstructions. If this is ok, replace the water pressure switch.
