Question about Ubi Soft Just Dance 2 for Nintendo Wii

2 Answers

I cannot download any songs for Just Dance 2. After supposedly successfully downloading a song, it does not show up in my song list and when I go to my archives, I get the following message: "catalog is out of date and cannot be restored to the Wii System memory. to use the add-on content, reload a content for which the license has been previously purchased." UbiSoft's solution was to erase the info in Just Dance 2, which did nothing but erase all my scores and, for some odd reason, has caused every score on Just Dance (1) to show up as a "high score". UbiSoft then claimed the problem is with my Wii, but Nintendo claims to never have heard of such a message and that the problem is with the game.

Does the sd card come with the Wii? Because I've never bought one and I've been opting to download to the Wii itself rather than the sd card.

  • mermadria May 22, 2011

I have TONS of memory because I've never downloaded anything before. I don't buy games; I only use my Wii for Just Dance and Wii Fit. Where can I get an SD card and how much are they? I don't have a digital camera and the only card in my cell phone has the Cingular logo on it. That's how tech savvy I am!

Oh, and my Wii did not come with an SD card.

  • mermadria May 22, 2011

But if my internal memory is corrupted, doesn't that mean I have to get my Wii fixed? Couldn't it potentially screw up other games?

  • mermadria May 22, 2011

These are the only two games affected by my attempted downloads. I've used them both on another Wii and they work fine.

If the only solution is to send my Wii to Nintendo, and thus go without it for up to four weeks, it concerns me that they've never heard of the error message I'm receiving.

Hi mermadria,

Have you tried changing the date and time on your Wii? check if the date and time is properly set on your Wii, if it is not then set it to the correct Date and time.

Once the Date and time is set then try downloading the songs again, I believe when you download the songs it automatically goes to the folder where the songs should be right? if not, when downloading you should make sure the songs get saved in the correct folder where the songs are found so it can be detected and thus should show when you play the game.

I checked regarding the error and it is not an error that Nintendo would know...

I guess it wouldn't hurt to try a different Disc of the same game title to see if the sme error would occur.

If it still gets tha same error then something is incorrect most probably with your Wii I just couldn't say what yet since I can't find the error that you mentioned.

Note: you can try going to the shopping channel to updte your Wii, then you can try Just Dance 2 again to see if the error will still show.

I hope that this can be of help.

Have a nice day,

I had a similar issue and my sd memory card went bad. Take out the sd memory card and try it in another device or try another sd card in the wii. When I changed the card and then re-downloaded the songs it worked fine. Turn off the wii before removing and installing another memory card.

Thanks for using FixYa, please accept my solution

Mine came with a sd card, maybe your internal memory is full or has gotten corrupted. You can try one from your digital camera, or cell phone to test it.

  • Carl W May 22, 2011

I strongly believe that your internal memory got corrupted. You can remove the items downloaded and re-dowload them. Memory cards are cheap a 4gb about $15. You can get one at Radio Shack, Office Max, Staples or Best Buy. The guys at Radio Shack can probably also give you some help with installing the card and redownloading your games

  • Carl W May 22, 2011

You would have to uninstall all your games then reinstall them all again

Here is the link to wii support it will answer your questions about reformatting/erasing

You do not have to send the unit back ,just follow the information on the link above.
    thanks for using fixya

How To Unlock All Songs in DDR Hottest Party 1 for the Wii

If you have Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 1 AND 2 for the Wii (both, not just one) you can unlock all songs for DDR Hottest Party 1

First, start up DDR Hottest Party 2.
Then go to "OPTIONS"
Then choose "USER SUPPORT"
The game should ask if you want to unlock all songs for DDR Hottest Party 1. Choose "YES" if it does.

All songs in Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 1 should be unlocked.

How to down load a song to my appleipod nano 2gb?

To download songs to iPod nano: m Simply connect iPod nano to your computer. If iPod nano is set to update automatically, the download begins. Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a computer, a message asks if you want to transfer songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other items are deleted from iPod nano and replaced with the songs and other items from that computer. If you don’t accept, you can still download songs to iPod nano manually without deleting any of the songs already on iPod nano. While music is being downloaded from your computer to iPod nano, the iTunes status window shows progress, and the iPod nano icon in the Source list flashes red. When the download is complete, a message in iTunes says “iPod update is complete.” If you set iTunes to download music manually, you can reset it later to update iPod nano automatically. For more information, see “Updating iPod nano Manually” on page 22. To reset iTunes to update iPod nano automatically with all songs and playlists: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list. 2 Click the Options button and click Music. 3 Select “Automatically update all songs and playlists.” The download begins automatically.

I bought my son a "MP4 player, Augen is the Manufactor or model. Will you tell me how to download music to it. I have downloaded a few songs but get this message- "format error"

the reason its showing format error is because the songs you downloaded into it is not compatible with the player. For example, if the song you were suppose to download was to be in AAC format, and you put MP3 format, it will show format error because it does not recognize songs in Mp3 format but with AAC format.

Therefore, when you want to download songs into the Mp4 player, make sure the songs are in either WMA or MP3 Audio format. These audio formats are compatible with Mp4 player.

Also, if you want to download videos, make sure they are in MP4 format.

I wish you good luck.

Nextarm933a mp3 player cant get to play songs or download

When you download songs, save it first on your My Music folder for you to easily track the song list. Once you have successfully downloaded the songs, insert your MP3 Player. Format your MP3 Player first by right clicking the drive and click format. Once it is formatted, Copy the songs from your My Music folder then Paste it on your MP3 Player drive.
*Note: Try to play your saved song in your Windows Media Player if the song is working fine before you copy it on your MP3 Player.
Drop a comment if you still have questions. I would be happy assisting you.
