SOURCE: how do i fix

Most of the time an E4-01 is one you can blame on gremlins. I might happen for no reason. If so, you'll have to go in to service mode (function + original size + 3), go to F9, scroll down to ram initialize, and find the command LBP fuser reset. Hit that, it will tell you to reset the power. It should come back up and be fine after that.
If it comes back with the same error, you'll have to pull the fuser out and replace either/or the thermistat or thermal fuse. You can check for continuity after removing the thermistat or thermal fuse and see which one is bad.

Please check it power cable or power board, if power section ok or working.
Then check you printer connection or not.
Check printer cartridge shot or not detect.

The printer show offline

Hi,
Is this network printer or stand alone printer?
For both, check the power of printer.
For network printer, check print server is working, network cable from printer to print server is fine, check your computer connect to network.
For stand alone printer, check cable connect between your computer and printer.

If they are all good, restart your computer to let windows pick up your printer when it start up.
Hope this will help. Thanks for reading

My ml 1610 printer says its not connected to my computer even though the cord is pluged into the usb port

Check the hardware and software settings first

1) Check the Hardware Connection -
a) Power connection to Printer
b) USB Connection from Printer to Computer

2) Checked the Drivers Software
a) XP/Vista = Open the device manager
Click Start - right click on My Computer
Click on Manage
Click on Device Manager
Click on (+) Ports COM & LPT and Check Printer is listed or not
or
Check for Printer Name (Samsung ML1610) is it listed under device manager
if YES - Check by printing the test Page
if NO - Install the Printer Drivers and then print the Test page

please check if you installed the printer correctly. when you plug the printer to the pc did it say found new hardware? and did you install the driver supplied by the manufacturer correctly? next you go to start->control panel->printers and faxes check there if you see a newly installed printer. next check if printer icon is online.. right click the new printer check if use printer offline is check. un-check it.
