Question about Cameras

1 Answer

Do I need a driver for my sanyo vpc 5885 digital camera because it won't download pictures to my computer via USB anymore. It turns on and then as soon as I push "set" for the PC the lense goes in and it shuts off. My computer had to be fixed and maybe this is why it won't work anymore? Do I need to install or download a new driver? Is there a driver via online or was there a CD that came with the camera?

Easiest solution is to get a USB card reader and then use that to transfer the data - the PC will just see the card as an extra drive.

Iris is not the cause of black screen.First confirm that shutter is opening as soon as you switch on camera. If shutter is not opened and you can't see live view on screen except black screen, then certainly there is problem with shutter assambly.

If shutter opens and you see black screen then there is problem with CCD.

Need a cd driver for this camera

Actually you don't.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
