Hi either battery itself defectiveness or your camera circuitry shorting. On your case it will be batter to get a new camera instead repair. your local repair shop would not like to repair due to part available. But at least check your battery though. thanks and best regard!

2006 Accent acts like the battery is dead every few days and will not engage the starter. a meter on the battery shows it at 12.6 volts. Starts if we jump it. Why?

check battery voltage while under load, with head lamps on for example and note voltage and how quickly it drops, if it drops fairly quickly I'd say battery is faulty, also check voltage with engine running to make sure alternator is charging, should be 13 to 14.5 volts with motor running

Regular batteries die right away should I use only rechargable batteries

There is something wrong with your camera that is causing the batteries to run down quickly.
Using recharage batteries will not fix this problem as they too will run down quickly.
You need to get your camera services/repaired.

Why does the battery run down so fast????

CRV3 Lithium.

These type of batteries run out quickly, because they are basically just 2x AA Rechargable tapped together. Cameras using these kind or just AA batteries run out quickly and don't last so long. Its always on and running as long as the connectors are touching (Positive and Negative) conductors.

Resolution:
Take out the batteries when not in use
If you have the budget, buy a new camera; stay away from these type of battery cameras
-Price ranges from 100USD-1,000+USD

Good luck, and rate my response.

Batterys dont keep there charge i think the batterys need to be replaced

before you dump those batteries, check the charger. If the battery when charged runs the tool but dies out quickly then you are probably right. If the battery never seems to be charged at all, then it may be the charger.

Craftsman lawn tractor model new battery drains quickly...

it could be the stator in the engine check the voltage with the volt meter when its running if its low check connections on battery & voltage if its below 12.5 volts then its the stator but the only thing is the engine should run with-out the battery so there is something else going on there is a fuse in the electrical system if theres a short that fuse will blow & engine will stall

It sounds like your battery is dead. If you get a replacement battery, it should solve both problems.
