My dryer will not turn on. It has been actinig up for a few days. If i jiggled the timer dial it would turn back on. You can hear the timer working but it will not engage the motor. It seems to have something to do with the timer switch. What do you think?

Correct you will need to unplug the dryer and access the top back panel there is a booklet in the top left corner, but anyways look at the timer for a loose or burnt connections, now if you take all the wires off take a picture write down what goes where as once you go to place the wires back they need to be hooked up right/correctly, hope this helps Tim

How to fix dial on sde4606ayw not spinning but the dryer gets hot.

If the dial on your Maytag SDE4606AYW dryer is not spinning but the dryer is getting hot, it may be due to a faulty timer. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
  1. Check the timer motor: The ticking noise you hear could be the timer motor trying to advance the timer. You can test the timer motor using a multimeter. If the motor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
  2. Inspect the timer knob: If the timer knob is loose or cracked, it may not be engaging properly with the timer shaft. Check the knob for any damage or wear and replace if necessary.
  3. Check the timer shaft: If the timer shaft is damaged or worn, it may not be able to turn the timer. Inspect the shaft for any damage and replace if necessary.
  4. Test the cycling thermostat: The cycling thermostat is responsible for regulating the temperature in the dryer. If it is faulty, it may not allow the timer to advance. Test the thermostat using a multimeter and replace if necessary.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to consult a professional repair technician for further assistance.

How do I set automatic timer on AC1 Hozelock watering system?

incorrect operation. 1. Remove screws and back cover. 2. Insert two 1.5V 'C' Alkaline batteries. (Check + and - are correct.). IMPORTANT: Rechargeable batteries must not be used. 3. Replace batteries each season. (max 12 months use) MAINTAINING THE WATERPROOF SEAL 1. Ensure that rubber seal is positioned correctly. 2. Replace back cover and screw down tightly. 3. Repeat each time back cover is removed. HOW TO PROGRAMME THE TIMER There are two watering operations - Automatic and Manual. AUTOMATIC OPERATION Automatic ON 1. Turn dial clockwise to AUTO START at actual desired start time (e.g. To start watering each day at 15H00 you must set your AC1 when the actual time of day is 15H00). The timer has now memorised the auto start time until it is reset and will operate every day at this time. Use of manual ON or OFF does not cancel memory. 2. Turn dial anti-clockwise to: a) Chosen duration for once-a-day operation, or b) Chosen programme for all other watering frequencies (see table). The timer will now automatically run the selected program repeatedly until a new option is selected. GB 2 Automatic OFF Turn dial to Manual ON or OFF. If you wish to return to Automatic watering re-select the desired watering programme. NOTE your auto start time remains memorised until a new one is selected. Changing start time Turn dial clockwise to AUTO START at new chosen start time. Changing watering programme Turn dial to new programme. Do not turn dial to AUTO START unless a new start time is desired. MANUAL OPERATION Manual ON Turn dial anti-clockwise to ON. Water will flow for 60 minutes maximum or until turned to OFF setting. Note: After 60 minutes water shuts off. Knob will still point to ON and needs to be manually set to OFF or to desired number of automatic watering minutes. Manual OFF Turn dial clockwise to OFF. Note: Operation is only audible when valve opens and closes. To check that timer is working, switch to manual ON or OFF to hear valve operate. CONNECTING THE TIMER TO THE TAP Use supplied adapters if required. Tighten to ensure no leaks

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II gas dryer won't turn off.

Dryer Won't Stop Running
  • Ultimate Car II Dryers are fitted with a mechanical timer that sends an impulse to the control circuit board to stop running once the set amount of drying time has elapsed. This is because, should an electronic timer fail, this would necessitate the replacement of the entire circuit board. Confirm that the mechanical timer is indeed broken by opening the dryer's door. If the dryer stops, the circuit board is working fine and is not the problem. Simply slide off the protective faceplate of the dryer, unscrew the control board beneath, and flip it over. Connected to the back of the timer's knob should be a small round device with two wires running to the circuit board within the body of the dryer. Unscrew this device from the back of the knob and disconnect the wires. A replacement timer costs a few dollars and should screw into place without trouble. Reconnect the wires and put the dryer back together. It should work fine now.

I have an older-model GE washing machine. About 2 weeks ago I went down to put clothes in the dryer & the washing machine was still full of water but the dial was in the "off" position. I...

Sounds like your timer is going out. Turn it to the spin cycle and see if it'll spin. If not jiggle the timer handle and see if that does it. If it works after jiggling the handle then you need a new timer which can be expensive. Or on the cheaper side it could also be a lid switch but sound more like a timer. Check the lid switch also.

Ariston ventless dryer- "Clean Filter" light won't turn off, so dryer won't start

I had this same problem. The dryer would turn on for a few seconds and I could hear the water pump working followed by the "clean filter" light. This dryer has a float sensor which detects whether the pump is successfully getting rid of the condensed water. The only problem is that lint and other particulates condense out in the water and over time the float sensor gets stuck in the up position. The Ariston call center explained that the float sensor can trip the "Clean Filter" light.

In any case, the float sensor is located in the back of the dryer where the pump outlet tube comes out (when facing the back, it is in the lower right). I had to take apart quite a bit of the dryer to get access to the sensor. I ended up taking the near side off to release the plastic snaps that hold the cover over the sensor.

To fix the sensor, all I had to do was clean out the "bath" that the sensor floats in. And then figure out how to put it all back together.

Dryer drys but the timer dial does not turn to stop automatic

Hi, You will need to change the timer. The timer motor has gone bad. You can test it by removing the back cover on the control panel and test the two wires going to the timer motor to see if it is getting 120V. If it is getting voltage, it should turn.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Switch does not turn on.

I believe this to be the motor is burned out or hopefully a wire is loose or burned in two. Make sure the breakers are reset and the connections are tight in the back.

LG DRYER DLE2516W

The timer is not advancing itself to the OFF or open cam, which opens points and stops the timer motor.
You will have to replace the timer to correct the issue.
