Question about Westinghouse WWS833ES Super Capacity Top Loading Washer w/ Precision Wash System
This behavior is typically cause by a defective or misaligned LID SWITCH.
There will be a tab or post on the lid that inserts into a matching hole or slot in the deck of the machine. If the tab is broken off you just need to replace the tab.
Find the slot and carefully insert a popsicle stick into the hole with the machine turned ON. It should start draining the water.
If the tab is okay then the switch tang may be bent or the switch is defective. It is mounted to the underside of the deck and pretty easy to change once you know how to raise the deck.
If you have never tackled this type of repair I urge you to get a service guide for your series of machine.
The part should look like THIS.
Don't forget to unplug the machine before probing around :)
