My freezer turns on when plugged in and cools to below zero, then shut off and warm to 37 degrees before turning back on. I just replaced the temperature control thermostat and the defrost thermostat.

Sounds like compressor is overheating and taking hours to restart. check by listening for the hum of the compressor shortly after it has reached temperature. also check the condenser is clean and fan working.

We have a Frigidaire Model FFC25C8CWO 25cf commercial freezer chest. The alarm keeps going off. The temp is below zero and we can't get it to get warmer. What can I do? Is it to cold is this why the

Hello Judy, thanks for your post!

From my understanding the alarm on your Frigidaire commercial chest freezer continues to go off. You have explained that the temperature is at zero degrees. It sounds like you could have a potential issue with your thermostat or sensor. I would recommend having a professional technician come out to properly diagnosis your freezer to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Good luck. -Matt

On model FFU17M8GW haveyou heard of any sensor problems that would make the freezer stop working?

Hello Nike, thank you for your question!

I show that the only sensor on your Frigidaire freezer (FFU17M8GW) is the actual thermostat sensing bulb, which is part of the thermostat. If the thermostat is faulty, then this will definitely affect cooling. I would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut diagnosis. Hope this helps! - Z

Replacement thermostats depends on whether the fridge is a double door or single door model. You can buy this part from your appliance parts store/supplier.

I have model TFU12MOAW3 upright freezer and it does not run. I tested the voltage from the freezer control to the compressor relay and I have 120 volts. Could tell me how I can test this relay (P/N...

Hello,
The relay can be tested by putting meter leads in the 2 holes on it where it attaches to the compressor and it should be closed (zero ohms of resistiance) if you have the rectangle one thats how to test it. If its older style and has the wire coils on top of it must turn it upside down but still closed w/zero ohms.

to test overload thermostat disconnect it from compressor and it to should be closed with zero ohms from spade to where wire connects to hole where it connects onto prong on compressor.

both the realy and overload should be removed from compessor to test

if both check good test compressor by one meter lead on prong where overload fits onto and other on one then the other prong. Both the start and run winding on compressor should be between 5-20 ohms if either is open compressor is dead

Freezer runs constantly, seal is okay, frost free, have tried lowering the temp, food stays frozen. zeecudaboro@tds.net

It seems to me that the thermostat is no longer sensing temperature. IT will either stay on (it controls the compressor) or wont come on at all when it becomes a problem. You can order one thru sears.com if there is not a appliance parts store nearby. To check before buying, heres what you do. You need to know the temperature (use a thermometer that reads below zero). it has to be at least 10 degrees or cooler. if it is then turn down thermostat dial to 1. if it shuts off then the thermostat is ok. if it doesnt turn off (the compressor) replace t'stat. let me know the temp. and if this works for you hope this was helpful...

Freezer seems to be working fine but fridge is not cold... fridge is on top of freezer, it is a frost free zanussi, not sure which model thou, just coming up to 5 yrs old ? any help would be great thanks

A fan controlled by a thermostat is required to move the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator for cooling. Use a volt meter testing the voltage on the fan. If you have voltage it is a bad fan. If you do not get a voltage test the thermostat. If it measures zero ohms short the thermal switch or if it is a short open one lead. If the fan works replace the thermal switch.
