Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

I have a clarke bench grinder model 1002. I have a light that I would like to attach into the wiring though the grinder wiring in it's base. The light has two wires, and the grinder has a ground that is grounded to the base, a black that goes to a switch then to the motor. The white goes directly to the motor. where would I have to splice in the two wires from the light? I have a switch that I would like to put in for the light on off also.

Attach the white wire on your lamp to the white wire on the grinder.
Attache the black wire on your lamp to the black wire on the motor side of the switch.
This will give the lamp power any time the grinder is turned on.
You can put a switch inline of the black wire to the lampp and it will allow you to turn it off when not needed

OR

You can attach the white wires together and the black ones before the switch.
If you choose this way you will need a switch as the lamp will be power all the time.

If you attach a picture of the scrubber, and give the model number, I can help. I retired from repairing these floor machines after 30 years. I like Clarke machines.

When I go to use the attachment tools the vacuum acts as if you have sucked up a bag. It will vacuum fine, but can't use the hose and attachments. Please help! Purchased it Sept. of 2010.

I have a ruffler for my kenmore sewing machine and im not sure how to use it i know where to put it and everything but im not sure how to use it

Not knowing what model you have, my answer is based on sewing knowledge. The ruffler is an attachment which replaces other presser feet. so you will need to remove your everyday presser foot and put the ruffler on in it's place. You have to make upper/bobbin thread adjustments based on your machine...Do you have your manual???? Happy Sewing.

I have a shark iron model G1495N It has a cut in the wire inside the rubber hosing that goes around the cord from the base of the iron When using it yesterday I didn't see the cut and it sparked...

It's probably best to replace the device, when dealing with sparks and exposed wires.
If you're electrically-inclined, feel free to pry it apart (when unplugged!) and see if you can re-attach things, but generally soldering or gluing within an iron is a bad idea.
So... two and a half years is longer than most Hollywood marriages. It's been a good run. Time for a new iron.

How do i change the fill tube

Cut the old fill tube from the lower housing and remove the top adapter from the old tube. Clean the bag and housing to be sure the spout the tube attaches to is clean. Be certain to use the fill tube used in the Generation 3 and 4 models which has a wire in it. Wet the lower few inches of the tube and screw it fully onto it's base in the lower housing. The upper adapter can be attached with cable ties.

Floor attachment starts (green light) and then, almost immediately stops (red light). I have cleared all built-up dust in the unit, but no change occurred as a result.

Step on the blue lever at the base of the floor attachment to separate it from the long wand. Sometimes there is a clog inside at the base that needs to be cleared. Good luck.

Is not charging - no red light

Yes, it can be replaced. Can be ordered from Black & Decker. Some people would say it's worth fixing others would not. Don't know cost of battery -- probably under $20.

You may have a bad switch, one part of it is not turning on the brush roll motor. It could also be the brush roll motor.
