Question about Panasonic PT-50DL54 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

My Panasonic PT-50DL 54J just started making a very loud humming noise. It is not coming from the fans, which have been cleaned. Then noise seems to be coming from further right of the fans. Thanks for all your help.

Do you happen to know a part number? I can't seem to find it; even after calling the part store. Thanks

Hi,

Well friend this is a bad color wheel, that's the problem you have the color wheels cost around 120.00 give or take and can be replaced by you if you pay close attention to taking apart the TV. Its location is in the engine and there are part store i have you can price them at and receive a schematic.

A generic video for the replacement of color wheel ( though the video is for Samsung, the procedure would be similar on Panasonic ) :-

    Thanks for your response!!

Unfortunately, i do not have any access to the service manual for this model. Have you tried to call encompassparts.com.They are usually the largest seller of these parts unless you might need to call Panasonic to get parts for the same.

    Contact Number for Panasonic

Panasonic Microwave NN-C980-B buzzing noise but it still works.

All:
I have a 2003 Sears Ultra Wave microwave 721.63682300 with a similar problem. A few months ago it started giving off short buzzes when turned on. That stopped but then I noticed that everything took twice as long to heat up. After quite a bit of teardown&inspection I found a circuit break in the inverter board leading to ZD704 diode (pictured). I will now try to find a replacement diode to see if replacing will fix it. Thanks for your postings.

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill

Panasonic PT-53WX54 What is that popping noise?

A loud popping noise, like a sharp "snap!", is usually caused by high voltage arcing. Somewhere in the high voltage system an insulator may be cracked or loose, such as the plastic around the flyback transformer or one of the rubber cups on a picture tube. When the high voltage arcs, it momentarily drops and the picture could go out for a split second. High voltage is dangerous in projection sets so allow a qualified tech to service it for you.
