Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
also could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU also you might not have enough RAM random access memory to check what is running when your computer is running scroll to the bottom toolbar right click select task manager applications and processes if you see something you dont need running select end now to check how much ram you have click start right click on my computer select properties you will see all of your computers details another way to check how much RAM you have click start all programs accessories system tools system imformation all of your computers imformation will be there try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this will schedule on a restart don

Dell XPS M1210 Stuck on blue screen due to hard drive

To determine if your hard drive is bad or good, run the Dell diagnostics.
Here is a link for the owner's manual of your model:

Blue screen of death

Run the recovery console and type chkdsk /r

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Boot from the CD

When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

Then type the chkdsk /r command

Let that run through and then restart the machine after it finishes.

If that doesn't fix it, run the Windows XP Repair Installation. You can find a walkthrough here - click here

Dell 530 won't boot up. Blue screen tells me I need to run CHKDSK /F. I can't get in anywhere to run it.

Try booting up in safe mode COMMAND PROMPT ....
Type CHKDSK /F
CHKDSK cannot run because the volume is in use Type Y and push enter it will start on the next startup...Restart the computer... If that doesn't work take the hard drive out and connect it to another computer and run it on that...

Endless chkdsk /r loop

Sounds like you have a seriously corrupt hard drive. I am afraid the only way to fix this is to replace the hard drive.

Good Luck!

Giving me messages about hardware failure and disk failure and telling me my hard drive isnt attached... getting the blue screen saying dumping physical memory then it tries to restart but wont boot all...

1st solution...
remove all power / power cables / batteries then keep pressing the power on button on the PC, ON - OFF, repetedly for some time WITHOUT POWER...put back the power cables...switch on....does it work ?
else
do this....
let the machine boot normaly....does it run checkdisk...if it runs chkdsk let it run....then if it boots after chkdsk is finished...it will show some erors...ignore the errors
else
do this
lf it boot from HD..after the machine boots before u get the blue screen press F8...do u get a selection to boot in Safe Mode...if yes..then chose that option....
let it boot in Safe mode...
once u get the desktop....
go to Start / Run / type..cmd..in the rectagle white box.
u should get a black window...that says "C:\Documents and Setting\Administrator or the user name>
there type cd..(CD followed by 2 dots)
again type CD..
it will take u to c:\>
there type
cd windows(type CD leave 1 space and type windows)
it will take u to windows directory
it will be some thing like this
c:\windows>
here type chkdks
let the chkdsk utility run....
guess it should solve ur problem...
else let me know...we can work on plan B

Need help getting pass the blue screen

Here, here, here and here are some excellent resources that will help you to troubleshoot the stop error codes (blue screens). If you reply with the exact code # you are getting, we can give you more detailed help, but you should be able to run chkdsk from the recovery console (if you have it installed, it would appear as a boot option (breifly) when you boot your system, or by pressing F8 as it boots up. For more info about recovery console see here and here. You can also run chkdsk from an installation cd if you boot the system from the install or recovery disc instead of the hard drive. See instructions to run chkdsk here and here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

StorStation fails to boot up - blue screen of death

The beeping alarm could have been overheating. You could try taking the HDD out and putting it in a workstation to run chkdsk on it. Incidently what operating system does this model use? I have an FSV-E1 which seems to run some Unix type system.
