Going with the shop manuals you should be alright with .25" to 30", without knowing what kind of machine you have. Hope this helps. Best regards and good luck.

Generally the spark plugs for mowers come pre-gapped. I use to measure but they were spot on, so now I just do eyeball comparison from the old to the new one, just to check.
